Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

An early PP would be nice. A goal within the first 8 mins is a must.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

No complaints about the officiating. Philadelphia has played a clean game. But yeah, and early PP would be great..even thugh they're 1-15 in the series I believe.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Subban's been awful today. Gonna happen every now and then no matter how good you are as a rookie. But again...growing pains at inopportune times.

And it would be nice for Plekanec to pot a goal. Or Pouliot. Or Kostitsyn. Or any of the other guys who are counted on to score but haven't.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Wow, not PK's finest game.

Plekanec must lead the league in getting tossed out of the circle.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Well...Montreal seems intent on trying to do their Habsputin impression again. It's worked twice, but I'm not too confident they can pull it off again.

Agreed. IMHO, the difference being in the past two series they competitive in every game, pretty much. Not so in this series.

Not ready for a full post-mortem yet, but I'm looking forward to some changes next season.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Bergeron isn't long on talent....but he's got heart. Nice play to keep the faint pulse alive.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Claude Giroux used to scare the hell out of me when he played for Gatineau. Luckily, we never had to play him much, since he was in the opposite division. I wouldn't mind never having to play against him again.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Subban was trying way too hard to do everything today. Kid's got heart.

Will be great to have him full-time next year. That will definitely be Montreal's strength, from the goal out:

Markov-Subban
Spacek-Hamrlik (if Hamrlik is not bought out)
Gorges-Gill

The Price trade should help up front. Nathan Horton in Florida perhaps?

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

You don't think they'll be signing Plekanec back? That contract negotiation should be real fun.

He hasn't done himself any favours with his playoff output, though, especially after the Caps series.

I think there's a decent shot he'll be back....I'd have been more skeptical had the Canadiens died quick in Round 1.

I think we'll see Weber get a fair amount of time in MTL next year as well. But I'm not completely ready to talk "next year" and summer signings yet!

In the 2008 series, he said he played like a little girl. Well, his performance this playoffs is about the same. He's been on the perimeter. Personally, I wouldn't bring him back. Some team is going to offer him 5M, and I want a guy with a little more heart when it's money time.

I think what they do with Price, and perhaps to a lesser extent AK46, will dictate what they do with Pleks.

Indeed; especially with injuries. The guy I'd really like to see over here is Korneev from Russia. Bring him over for a year in Hamilton.

I have to be honest, I'm getting awfully close to the "next year" stage. It's been a great run, tremendous fun, but getting shut out three times in four games by a career minor leaguer/back-up kind of takes the starch out of it for me. Of course, win Game 5, and I'll be saying "of course they'll win on home ice in game 6"...and then I'll be saying, "they've already beat Washington and Pittsburgh in road game 7's, why not Philly, too?" :D Go Habs Go.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Indeed. And he's gonna have days like this. I'd rather have him have a bad game due to trying too hard than not trying enough.
When Hamrlik was drafted, Subban was three years old. This is why there aren't a lot of 21 year olds in the league. Every team depending on a player younger than Subban for big minutes went out in the first round.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

i kinda hope the sharks win this one in overtime, for the very selfish reason that I hope it extends the series. the western conference games have been way more exciting than eastern conference... and i want to see more of these two high flying teams.
