2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

1) I hate Philly and their fans. But I absolutely love the fact that they're taunting the Habs with the "Ole Ole Ole" chant.

2) You ever notice how sometimes Halak tries to make a save with his glove, and he moves his body away from the puck? It's as if he's trying to make the save look better, for the highlight reels, while he makes himself more vulnerable (by taking his body out of the save) if he misses his glove. The first goal tonight was a great example of what I'm talking about. Seems like the kind of thing a professional goaltender would've stopped doing by now.

Great. Olympic Nabokov has arrived.

Too bad the goalie market is so freaking awful, they'll probably end up resigning him because Turco/Price/Biron isn't exactly an upgrade.

Didn't look to me like he ever saw that shot until it was almost by him. He's been the second-best goalie on the ice thus far but I think, like Game 1, he's been good enough, certainly not Olympic Nabokov.

Man are the Blackhawks playing great hockey right now.

How 'bout we play the entire series in San Jose.

How about we play best-of-13 between Chicago and San Jose for the Cup?

With Murray in the box, I'm not sure there's anyone on the Sharks roster strong enough to move Byfuglien from in front of the net.

Wow, I think I forgot about how ugly Brent Sopel is.

He looks like a cross between Andy Samberg and Frankenstein's monster.

Good call.

Not looking great for the Sharks. :o

I was going to save this for the end of the conference finals, but I'll probably forget, and with the Sharks' finalizing a two-game deficit, it feels appropriate :o :p:

Thomas, anyone?:o

Thomas, anyone?:o

Not only no, but hell no.

They need to go with a Greiss (550k) and veteran (1.5)combo next year and invest the other 3.5 million along with Blake's retirement into a couple good, faster d-men who don't have to back up at the blue line all game long because the other team is a hell of a lot faster then they are.

If recent playoffs have shown anything, it's that expensive goalies are nearly worthless come playoff time.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Dave Bolland is doing to Joe Thornton exactly what he did to Daniel Sedin in Round 2.

Yup. If I'm Bolland, once I get my arm iced down, I'm in the locker room laughing at Thornton's antics at the end of the game.

That plus Chicago gave San Jose just 1 powerplay tonight (they scored). If you give San Jose's skill players time and space, they will pick you apart. But for most of the night they had neither.

Game 1 Sharks-Blackhawks was a bounce that went Chicago's way. Tonight was a much more solid effort from the Hawks.
