2010 Dodge Holiday Classic (Minn, BGU, NMU, Clarkson)

Re: 2010 Dodge Holiday Classic (Minn, BGU, NMU, Clarkson)

Wow, Ryan Flynn's diving poke of the puck with about 12" left before it would have gone into an empty net shows how selfish the players on this team are. It was Flynn's 1st goal of the year but I would not want it the way it was scored. Hoeffel ices the puck and it was going to go in. Let Hoeffel have the goal...afterall, he is the better player.

I'm going to echo the comments of everyone else here. It was a good goal. If he didn't put it in there was a chance the BGSU players could have swept it out off the line. Smart play and not at all selfish.

Why is it called the Death Cup??

At the end of NMU's tenure in the WCHA there was a travelling trophy for the winner of the MN-NMU season series sponsored by a funeral home in Marquette and a funeral home in the Twin Cities. If I remember correctly the funeral home directors were buddies and grads of MN/NMU.

NMU then realized they could no longer compete in a real league, put their tail between their weenie wildcat legs, and skulked back to the CCHA relegating the death trophy to obscurity. :D

So is the cup up for grabs tonight this cup?

The Canale-Bradshaw Cup will go to the winner.

I'm watching the Dodge sloppy hockey classic and I see a lot of empty seats, what gives? Lucia dissention hitting full stride?

At least you can watch it, charter cable in Michigan says it will be aired, but we get Baylor football preview.

It's a game that doesn't really matter, and I believe this is the end of Christmas Break, so many students may not be around.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

But half full in minneapolis? I hope the fans are in full swing for the sioux series, it will be my first trip to the mooch and I would like to see the fans in all their "glory".

Prepare to be sorely disappointed, especially if you're going to a Friday game.

Actually, for Sioux and Badger games, it gets pretty loud.

Of course, I'll probably just head to the Bloomington Senser's, a Sioux bar, and have some fun there. :D

I'd be up for Senser's that weekend, if I don't end up going to Houghton with ST for the Anchorage series (which kinda depends on her getting out of work on Friday)

You should. They better show the game this time (actually, COMCAST better show the game this time). Last time, it was UND v tUMD, and Comcast didn't show the game. The restaurant manager was livid, as well as all the Sioux fans.

We're always livid.

We're always livid.

And hostile. And abusive.

The worst part of it was, the manager wasn't notified of the change in coverage until 10 minutes before gametime.
