2010 Division III Commitments

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

Cards, I hate to sound really dumb but is there some trick involved in seeing the names you've added in the past day or so?? I've seen a string of announcements of new names but when I open your chart, I don't see any of the added names.

Try refreshing once you click on the link.

Sometimes your browser will just open up the page from cache. Refreshing the page (or hitting F5) will fix that.

You and me both. I can't figure it out either - I must have hit refresh 100 times.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

I have never seen the NESCAC so top heavy in EJHL guys. Usually there is an abundance of Prep players...virtually non existent so far. Another thing that jumps out overall is the lack of goal scorers.....usually a few snipers slip through the Dl cracks for whatever reason. Does not seem to be the case up to this point. Just an impression after a quick perusal.

I'll be the first to admit to that this probably at least partly due to the fact that kids from the juniors are far easier to find evidence on regarding their recruitment.

I have a handful (maybe more) of prep/HS kids that I'm likely going to be adding very soon.

As for the goal-scorers: Although I haven't paid this close attention to it before this year, I'm not surprised that DI-type guy isn't slipping through the cracks and landing in the NESCAC. What I have noticed the last few years is that these DI-type guys generally commit late. And you and I both know the NESCAC schools are very strict in their admissions policy, and that include commitment the deadline. I'm pretty sure (having spoken with friends who happen to be employees of a couple of the schools) that the entire conference started waitlisting people on May 2nd.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

Can everyone see the updates now? You should be able to.

Cards -- After modifying the spreadsheet go to the upper right corner, click share, publish as webpage, republish. That should update the actual site instantly...

Sorry for any inconveniences, everyone.

You guys are doing a great job! I could not see the new updates, and you fixed it, I was going to loose my job I spent so much time trying to figure that out.

Thanks

Whoops. My bad :o

Now I'm confused as to why some were able to see the changes instantly (myself included) and some weren't...

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

UWSP = Max Bobrow Pembroke CJHL - Randy Wolcott UMass Amherst D1 Transfer

St. Michaels = Sam Torney - Bridgewater EJHL

UNE - Zach Lokey - Gloucester CJHL

Utica - Alex Boak - Brockville CJHL

St. Anselm - Joe Tebano - South Kent

I think all are true but do not have skills to verify, but if you can that would be great.

Utica - Alex Boak - Brockville CJHL

Looks like Alabama-Hunstville has stolen 2 Brockville Players from right under the noses of DIII teams this offseason!

From Brockville's website:
Alex Boak joins Clarke Saunders at University of Alabama - Huntsville

Third year Defenseman Alex Boak accepted a NCAA DIV I athletic scholarship to the University Of Alabama- Huntsville.

Alex's stellar play in the playoffs and Fred Page Cup led to his being named the Braves Most Improved Player and Best Defenseman at the 2009-2010 awards banquet last Wednesday. It has also allowed him to go from a Div III spot in Utica NY to a Div I Scholarship with U of A - Huntsville. Boak tallied 5 Goals and 28 assists for 33 points this season to go with 48 Penalty minutes in 57 games. He increased his production to almost a point-per-game during the playoffs (6-4-10 in 13 games) and Fred Page Cup Championship run(0-4-4 in 4 games). He was also named the player of the game for the Braves in their 2-1 win over the Pembroke Lumber Kings in FPC Round Robin Play.

Alex joins Braves Goaltender Clarke Saunders for the trek to Alabama to join the Huntsville Chargers in the fall.
