2010 Division III Commitments

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

Matt, thanks for all of your updates. Great work. We appreciate it very much.

Not a problem...as I was just telling someone else the funny thing is that I originally started doing it just so I didn't have to dig through this thread all the time and could look at one full list. Someone should start a similar thing for the East (I would but just don't have the time - maybe next year). Once caught up for the year it's not tooooo hard to keep track of as it's just add a guy here and there. That and it's just a stupid google spreadsheet as nothing fancier is really needed.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

I am suprised more players from the GOJHL (Golden Horseshoe) aren't committed yet. Some pretty good talent up there.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

Is there an equivalent site for east region commitments for the SUNYAC etc?
No. Anyone can start one though, it's just compiled from posts in this thread as well as anything found searching jr league websites.

The busy early May continues. Three more to Marian.

2010-11 West Region Commitments

Webb,

Your efforts to keep this list up to date are greatly appreciated. I need some help to find current committments for the East. Every time I go to the Junior leagues committments page, I get the same info that was in there 2 months ago. I cannot find the updated info such as the ones you found for Marian on the Alberta page. I even went to the specific Junior team pages and they do not show the latest either. Must be I am lacking in Internet skills.

How do you get the most recent info?

Thanks

Thanks, oldguard.

After doing this for a couple of years information comes from a variety of places, with more and more showing up eariler in the cycle each year. The majority come from listings on junior league sites, but many come from other places -- often via e-mail, and many of those anonymously. Suffice to say, however, no one gets added to the list until I have done my best to verify such information in order to establish its bonafide credibility as the last thing I want to so is plaster a kid's name all over the place against the wishes of the player, his family or his future coaching staff -- especially if it's inaccurate.

One thing I'll add is that you can kick up a few things if you go to each team site instead of just looking at the league page. A pain in the a-- of a painstaking process, yes, but every once in a while it's worth it.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

I've got bad news...the West Commitment page ceases to exist.

I also have good news, which is that a page covering the entire DII/DIII nation now exists in its place, thanks in large part to Nathanael LePage who stepped up on behalf of the East Region. Big thanks to him for helping finish off what is a long overdue consolidation. Have at 'er:
