The names are reused every 6 years unless they were catastrophic enough for one of the affected countries to ask for the name to be retired. So yeah, the name occured iin 1998 and would have in 2004 as well if it got that far.

we had a co-op one year from NU who swore that hurricanes were named after the weatherperson who first saw it!!!:eek:

(and yes, i know you know this - but i like to share)

she was the cutest asian girl with a wonderous rack!! :D

yes, and Tomas became a Cat2 before struggling with wind shear and it's currently a minimal tropical storm.

The season is official over, although it seems like a hurricane is blowing here currently.
