2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

sorry ND team? what do u mean by that? now i wasnt at the game but from everything ive heard it was a decent game. martin made some great saves and obviously there were a lot of penalties. but with ND only having 8 forwards, i was impressed they kept it a fairly close game

I can't answer that. I was there, but check with brookyone first. He wasn't at the game and didn't watch it, but he's the guy I go to first to tell me what I saw and what my opinion should be.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

All even after one period in Durham between UNH and Dartmouth. Shots slightly in favor of UNH at 6-5. UNH spent six minutes of the first stanza in the box, but managed to generate several good shots on net despite being shorthanded. Dartmouth's Whitney Woodcox had a big save on a Kristine Horn breakaway. Horn, on the forehand, tried to beat her shortside/stickside and Woodcox got her pad on the shot at the post.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Still scoreless in Durham after two. Shots are now 18 to 12 in favor of Dartmouth, but the vast majority of the Dartmouth shots were from the perimeter. Best scoring chance of the period again belonged to UNH. Kristina Lavoie was able to jump on a loose puck in the high slot when Dartmouth defenseman Lauren Kelly lost an edge while looking to headman a soft dump in.

Lavoie moved in on Woodcox straight down the slot and moved to the backhand as she tried to go shortside/glove along the ice, but Woodcox made an old school skate save.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UNH's Minton with a huge save on Hobeika, as she had a clean breakaway coming out of the box in the opening moments of the third.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UNH scores to make it 1-0. Goal came after a PP had expired, with Nicole Gifford picking up the tally on a rebound of a Kailey Chappel shot with just under six to go in third.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Darty net empty with 1:10 to go

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UNH picks up the win, and Minton the shutout. A big monkey off the Wildcats' back, grabbing their first win in eight games. The losing streak was the longest in the 36 year history of the program.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UMD really let one get away tonight. North Dakota wins 4-3. The Bulldogs did set a new record for fastest consecutive goals by scoring three times within 21 seconds in the first period to go up 3-1, but they couldn't catch a break the rest of the game.

The DECC in Duluth is officially no longer the home of Bulldog hockey. In January the ladies open the new Amsoil Arena with a series against Wisconsin on Jan. 21/22.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Sorry -- went to a movie. :)

Mercifully for SCSU, their 3 games with the Lakers are now over after today's 8-1 rout.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Do you have any updates on the Mercyhurst vs St. Cloud game?

Scanzano with the hat trick plus an assist, Agosta with 5 assists, and Christine Bestland with 2 goals and an assist. Brittany Toor with the lone Husky goal. Shots were 50-21; do I really need to say which way those were favored?

Re: Upset of the day

I missed the carnage yesterday (family stuff), but the Huskies' drive for 0-fer the season continues. A roadblock today against Northeastern, but they are also in the top 10 . . .

Will be at the Concrete Center at noon today to watch Mercyhurst and 'Sconnie. That should be a premier game.

Former Huskie Caitlin Hogan was in attendence yesterday (and hopefully today). She is working in marketing out in California and is also coaching a youth team. Maybe getting some coaching experience so that some day she could bring attitude, energy and hockey stuff to the long-suffering SCSU program.

As a SCSU fan, about all we have are memories of players past. At least the men's team won two games and a trophy in Florida last week . . .
