2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Shots on goal through 2 are 30-3. A much better second period for Cornell than yesterday.

30-3 a much better period ?. I'd say 30-3 is uber dominant. Guess the real Big Red showed up today.

Yes, they did. Final score was 9-1 with RMU scoring a power play goal during a scrum in front of the net. Third period goals were scored by Karpenko (from White and Fortino), Ogilvie (from Young and Johnston), Campbell (from Paulson and Oglivie) and K. Overguard (from Rougeau and Karpenko). Final shots on goal were 43-8. A much, much better game today for Cornell.

Campbell with a hatrick! :D

UNH up 2-1 after one.
Shots 10 to 9 in favor of UNH

Habscheid opened the scoring for St. Lawrence, while O'Neill (Sheary, Skudder) picked up UNH's first. Horn (Sheary) had the second marker for the Wildcats.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights Oct 22-24

I didn't want to jinx PC while the score was 2-0. It is now 3-0 PC on top, 10 minutes left in the 3rd. Goals by Veharanta in the 2nd, Bacon in the third (on a checking from behind major on Princeton), and Friedman.

UNH 3-1 after two periods. Birchard added to the Wildcats' lead on a two on one, tipping home a beautiful dish from Goloubef.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UNH goes up 4-1, on the PP. Lavoie with a big blast from the top of the left wing circle, assisted by Birchard and Horn.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

St. Lawrence gets one back on a nice wrister from the slot by Smith (Emard) that squeeked through Minton and just trickled over the line.

Shots even at 19 apiece.

St. Lawrence picks up their third, on the PP, with Sabatine (Bero, Fernandez) putting home Bero's rebound in a scrum, midway through the third.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UNH 5
St. Lawrence 3

Kristina Lavoie just scored an absolutely amazing goal. Picking up a wring from Cuthbert, she banked it off the boards at the Dzone blue line carried up left wing into the O zone, made a spin o rama move around the D, backed in on the net and from her knees tossed home a backhander. Absolutely frikken unbelievable.

UMD in a bit of a one-sided game against Connecticut 8-0. Shots on goal were 63-9. Game 2 tomorrow if Connecticut is up for it. :D

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

After last night would expect some more changes in the top ten....

Minny lost to UND again
Hurts lost as well...(I'm smelling a top spot for Cornell, Wisco 2nd in the official poll...Hmm lets see that sounds like what I had in my pre-season poll )

Quinny lost a game.
PC won again and will moving into the top 10.
BC keeps on winning to move up.
BU keeps in winning to move up.
UNH won both, will it be enough to move up ?

Meanwhile the ivies got going. Cornell won, Princeton split with Yale/Brown, Brown won both tilts, and Yale lost both. Princeton also lost a tight one to McGill.

Brown site shows one exhibition game is all-Etobicoke, a win 5-2.
No opening of " Ivies" as to Brown.
Play first official game tomorrow at BC.

The fact the games are not listed does not mean they did not occur.

Read the articles in the links below for the details on the Brown vs Yale and Brown vs Princeton games from last weekend.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Alena Polenska (Kutna Hora, Czech Republic) exploded in the third period, scoring two goals in under three minutes to power Brown to a 5-2 win over Etobicoke. The exhibition win comes just 18 hours after the Bears downed Yale and Princeton in scrimmages.

The Harvard game last weekend vs Etobicoke ( an 8-4 win) is not registered on the USCHO or collegenetstats site, while the Dolphins games vs Cornell and Brown were . Not sure what leads to the inconsistencies in reporting/recording. If you go to the ECAC site you'll notice that the Dartmouth vs McGill game is recorded in Dartmouth's record, but the McGill vs Yale and McGill vs Princeton are not in theirs. Go figure.

Reminds me a bit of a Bobby Orr goal, backhanding accross behind while sliding backwards towards the boards after begin hooked onto his knees. They showed that on HNIC today.

I don't care what the box score says, that was Armstrong with the goal. Period.

Ah, you could be right. I had it wrong when I wrote it earlier. O'Neill was at the top left of the crease and Lavoie was off the left post. In the post goal celebration everyone is giving the glove to Birchard's helmet, with Armstrong on the outside of the group. Gonna have to go to video for the final say, eh?

Just looked at the Hockey East web site. The box score for the first goal is wrong, as O'Neill had that one. (A stuff shot through the five hole.)
ONeillScorevsSLU.jpg

O'Neill jams home the puck five hole for goal number one.

On the ice for UNH: 8, 20, 22, 3, 15
