2010-11 Schedules

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

That's not what I was implying at all. AIC has a conference, and, as such, can get an NCAA-qualifying number of games. UAH, without a conference, is afforded no such guarantees.

GFM

Good point. And yes, it is great that UAH was able to not only get games, get some quality opponents as well. Now I hope you run the table as what I will declare as my 3rd favorite team (behind RIT and Miami)

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

Speaking of UAH, when was it announced that they're playing a pair of games at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville?

They announced it the same time they announce Luongo as head coach:
Announcement

In conjunction with this announcement, UAH Athletic Director Jim Harris announced that the team would play Merrimack in Nashville this season as part of a double-header with the Nashville Predators. This series will take place Friday, January 14, 2011 and Saturday, January 15, 2011, with the Saturday afternoon game as the double-header. The Predators will host the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks in the Saturday night game.

Well remember.. when you have a coach that hasn't had a winning season since 93-94.. not too many teams want to play a team in which the administration doesn't want to search for new coaching talent.

I'm still calling for the return of Coach Thornton.

Dude... you have GOT to help Dirty get his hands on an AIC sweater.

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

I remain skeptical. My hopes were so high last year and then whatever his name was disappeared and weaseled out on the bet. Until that jersey is in my hands, I won't believe it.

Was he a big Hurricane's fan? If so.. I think I know who he is and I can get it out of him.

When you don't have a conference schedule, you're not forced to play patsies. Unfortunately, other teams tend to want to treat you as their patsy, but we think we're more Patrick than Patsy.

GFM <-- not Nancy.

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

It's a lost cause. This giblet head has given a bad name to the other three AIC fans.

i understand what is going down, just thought that was a great schedule, given the circumstances:)

Oh, absolutely. I think it helps that the fMAAC plays a very insular schedule ... we didn't have much chance to play games against inferior opponents.

Just because you mentioned Patsy....

Ah, runnin' away, eh? You yellow b*****ds, come have at ya! I'll bite ya legs off! :D

With a schedule like that, do well, and you may find yourself in the CCHA real soon. BTW, is UAH eligible for an at-large?

I just realized i hate America.... 11 hours from DC to Nashville?!?! It doesn't look that far on a map :p How come these things are so far away :p

AIC Broadcaster... if you could get an active black market for AIC jerseys that'd be swell.

I've given up on securing a UConn jersey. Seems they only give them to Baltimore-based confectioners.

Why wouldn't they be? They just don't have an auto-bid to help them.

I only asked because, in some cases, independents aren't afforded the potential privilege. Granted this is usually where a team either is just starting or is moving up from one of the lower college levels; I haven't seen a team get forced back to independent due to a folding conference.

Independents who are not on an NCAA probationary period for having changed divisions are postseason eligible. UAH's last year of D-I ineligibility was 1998-1999.

I've told anyone who'll listen that going .500 with the schedules that UAH will see as an independent will get them serious at-large consideration.
