2010-11 Schedules

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

Independents who are not on an NCAA probationary period for having changed divisions are postseason eligible. UAH's last year of D-I ineligibility was 1998-1999.

I've told anyone who'll listen that going .500 with the schedules that UAH will see as an independent will get them serious at-large consideration.

GFM

Thanks for the information.

UAH's chances will depend upon the SOS of the other at large teams. I don't know if .500 would do it, but I think maybe around .600 would do it if you beat the right teams and at least stay close with the tough ones.

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

You'd think an acCOUNTing school could COUNT, but...

Bentley posted (without corresponding press release, that I can find) a partial schedule here. It truncates after the SHU H-H series Feb 4-5 2011. I know they have more beyond that already announced via other sites. Given what's shown, it's all but certain that the last two games - another H-H this time with Holy Cross - are Feb 25-26, though which is which is still in doubt as are the start times.

Maybe when HC's AD gets around to it we'll know.

That schedule contains the missing link. November 20 at HC for the third HC/Bentley game. While it has been assumed that the last weekend is a Home and Home no one knew when the third game was. The only other schedule problems appear to be when Boston College gets in their games on Football weekends.

Why don't AIC and Holy Cross and AIC and Bentley schedule non-conference games before an AHL game to fill out their schedules and perhaps pick up some fan interest in the process?

Bentley's site has beenupdated to include the last 3 weeks of the season. the H-H with HC is at Holy Cross Friday (2/25) and at Bentley Saturday (2/26).

I think the entire D-I schedule is now complete, but still (of course) subject to change!

though HC and BC still have yet to officially release their schedules.... are those the only two?

HC hasn't released theirs - so there's a possibility of an EX game or (I think) one OOC game left. BC hasn't released theirs, but by looking at everyone else's you can see that they're maxed out w.r.t. OOCs and could maybe still schedule an EX. So you're right, but with small qualifications. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

BC's schedule is up through the Hockey East site but not their own yet. All of the three conflicts with football have been addressed. The Merrimack home opener as expected was switched to Friday night and the Maine second game of the weekend was moved to 3PM Sunday. The Toronto exhibition is listed at 7PM the night after the Notre Dame Football game now. BC and BU switched exhibition nights.

Holy Cross as well has not released it but the league has. An exhibition with AIC rounds out their schedule at 35. Though the schedule does not say exhibition it has to be. AIC still has only 31 games listed so the confusion can be there as they could still add up to 4 more games.

Holy Cross is still under the limit. Two of the games are the Icebreaker. I don't know how the in-conference schedule works for Atlantic Hockey, but I would think the new AIC game counts towards the 34.

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

So maybe the extra AIC game is a regular season game but non-league.

It's possible; I don't know Atlantic that well. I know the ECAC non-Ivies do it all the time, but we also have 12 NC games as opposed to the Ivy League 7.

By the way, do you know what the rules are regarding playing a D-I team in a foreign country? Is it exempt? Does it count as exhibition?

An extra exhibition is allowed when playing in a foreign country. BC did it against New Brunswick scheduling two games up there before. It is like playing a National team in that you are allowed an extra exhibition. I don't think you can do both though. As far as playing another D1 team in a foreign country it would probably be the same by allowing the extra exhibition. If it is a regular season game the rules could be different. Not sure.

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

Anything to give AIC another game is fine by me too. BTW - They're looking into the possibility of the Sweden Junior Team visiting AIC.
Any luck with that. Noticed that the original Swedish schedule has been changed. They were supposed to play BU on November 3 but the BU folks say it has been cancelled. The Swedish site has it changed to November 1 so there are now open dates on the 3rd and 4th of November.

I believe it happens in the AHA due to minimal interest in scheduling some of their teams (like AIC).

I did pass the info along, and the reply was, they would look into it. It might be really tough to play 3 games in 3 nights for the Swedish team. Does anyone have any ideas for teams for AIC to play between 10/29 and 11/13? It is a shame the AHA won't allow any members to play D3 teams, even that would be something.

People from BU seem to think the game is off on Nov. 1 as well as the original Nov. 3 date so a Nov. 3 game would make it just 2 in a row for the Swedish team. Hope AIC keeps trying for that game as it may still be available.

Who could AIC schedule? (Besides HC) Isn't everyone else's schedule filled?
