Huh. Your American born wife and American born and raised kids don't want to live in Russia for five years. Shocking.

Putin's bringing it back! :D

According to the right, Obama brought it here first. :D

Wow - no one at the Joe tonight. Must not be the only game in town.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

there are a smattering of empty seats down low, but it certainly doesn't look vacant in the Joe.

It's rare treat for Detroit sports fan to see an actual Super Bowl contender from the NFC. :D Plus booing the Vikings has been a tradition handed down generation to generation.

Oh for crying out loud!

With hopes of fuelling home games with excitement and energy, the Edmonton Oilers unveiled their new cheer team Tuesday night — the Octane.

“They’ve really worked hard on making sure that when they slide that Oilers Octane uniform on, that they’re very proud of it. They want the fans and Oilers community to be proud of them,” said Allan Watt, Oilers vice-president of communications.

Though several U.S. NHL teams have cheerleaders, the Octane is the first team in Canada. Some fans question whether the team is necessary or appropriate.

What surprised me about that article is that apparently every American NHL franchise except Detroit now has a cheer team. *insert joke about the "ladies" of Detroit here*

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

I'm pretty sure the Wild don't have one. People got angry about girls going out to shovel up some ice, even though they weren't anywhere near scantily clad. People around here for some reason think hockey is supposed to be good, clean, family entertainment.

Drives me nuts. :D

So the Penguins forgot about the third period. Interesting. Also interesting, Boyle has 12 goals.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

If I had a dollar for every time the losing team had to kill a penalty at the end of a hockey game, I'd be able to buy an AIC jersey.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Maybe the NHL should've put the Rangers in the Winter Classic after they beat both the Caps and the Pens in back to back games.

The first period sucked though. Callahan being out for 6 weeks is really going to hurt. :(
Ah crap, six weeks? Is there some way we can trade his injury for another 30 games without Drury?

According to this mornings NYP Callahan is out for about 6 weeks with a broken hand.

Maybe we can let Christensen take the hurt hand and let Callahan and Drury play? I would rather have Drury than Christensen out there.

It seems were incapable of having a 100% healthy team right now :(

I guess i'd rather have it happen now instead of February-May...

Apparently Bryzgalov got sick today so the Coyotes signed a former AIC goalie to suit up as the backup for tonight's game.

Yep, GLM wrote an article about it... better hope labarbera doesn't get hurt. Good for him though, able to live out a dream that he probably shut out of his mind once he graduated. If he gets into the game, he'll be the first ever AIC player in the NHL
