2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Save me from what? What does Arlan have to do with anything? You keep dropping his name likes it's some sort of threat...rather strange, but that fits the source all right. I actually think it's a good idea to address the comments I find disagreeable in private. I think that's what the approval / disapproval rep feature was created for. There are certainly times when I'm going to use it. Just as I often do for posts I like. If you don't like that Metcalf you can complain to the administration about the feature in general...or shove it. Just a couple options.

Brook, I already complained to the administration about you using my surname on these boards...which is rather low, even for you... but guess what? Never heard a word from them so figured you have them in your back pocket as well. I can assure you however that as long as it remains up there or you use it in your posts...the Brookie Blitzkreig will continue...

I am looking forward to reading about and watching the Minnesota Gophers this year! Go Gophers!

Re: Photos from Wayne State game

Thank you for posting the great photos. Along with the splendid player action shots, I think you truly "captured" Gopher superfan Gano as well.

Thanks. I wish the U would make it easier for me to be paid for my time. Sadly I cannot unless USCHO paid me for my time (which has only happened during the postseason).

If any of you are interested in watermark-free photos send me an email.

Save me from what? What does Xxxxx have to do with anything?.

Sometime you gotta look deeper to figure it out. Both of you have/had the "Ignore" in your signature, so 5-4 was suspecting a conspiracy.

The Fiver Army is gathering intel on a daily basis....it's only a matter of time.

I was under the impression that it was frowned upon to reveal posters real names...but I guess not.

Two can play that game. Stay tuned.

I'm afraid that doesn't explain any alleged legit reason for frequently bringing another, completely uninvolved and uninterested poster into our arguments. Why can't it be kept strictly between the two pricipals?

Since when do you care about what's frowned upon or even what's not allowed as specified in print within the posting guidelines? You violate virtually every posting guideline on a regular basis. Apparently it's every forum member except you that's subject to rules of decorum within the confines of this message board.

It was another DIII poster who revealed your identity. I just happened to read it. The premise that I have any sort of privilege with the administration is yet another preposterous and dumb implication.

5 4 Fighting has blatantly violated posting guidelines many, many times in his frequent attacks on me. He obviously thinks he's not subject to those guidelines and can post anything he wants regardless of how defamatory it is towards another poster, but as I've said several times in the past, cries foul when someone responds in kind. I have not reported any of these violations to the administration. I've let it slide everytime thus far. If another libelous, defamatory and potentially damaging post occurs as they have in the past, I will likely report it to administration, and they will be informed of my intent to consult an internet libel attorney.

Chip is good. Am I supposed to be frightened by your possession of that knowledge? I could publicly inquire about your own family members if you want to play that game.

It's clearly your game...

Just a little free advice on the libel situation. I have never used your real name (yet) in any post and therefore no libel intent is present. You on the other hand have used my real name... whereby libel intent is present.

You might want to back away from that.

Greasemonkeys shouldn't make litigious threats....

There are many posters in the forum who know my full identity in addition to my screenname. Therefore the potential for damage as a result of your libelous statements towards me does exist. I on the other hand have never posted anything remotely libelous towards you, as you most certainly have towards me. So, if it happens again...I won't be backing away. You can count on that I assure you.

How is it clearly "my game" when you're the one who just brought personal family info into the fray, when I never have?

Fill yer boots...hope you have lots of cash.

I actually recently heard from one of your "friends" and they gave up your full name, address etc. Seems they and many more like them think your willingness to use surnames on these boards is about as vile as it gets and want to see justice done. I'm torn now whether to post all your personal information on here. My initial reaction is to do so however I would only then be stooping to your level...hmmmm, have to sleep on it.

Hell, Brook they even gave me your dog's name!

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Back to the Gophers, any thoughts will Coach Frost keep the lines as he had them on Saturday or try some other mixes?
Good question. All of the lines have been generating chances. Even the 4th line came very close to scoring a couple different times on their very first shift on Saturday. Both Davis and Terry have been so close, and I think it would do either of them a world of good if a puck would go in for them. Whether Coach would mess with the Kessel line in the hopes of jump starting somebody else is a tough one.

Team D has been pretty good with the forward lines as they've been, so my guess would be that he lets the current combinations ride, with Downey and Brausen both getting some amount of time at center on the 3rd. As the long-term prognosis for West changes, that may change his thinking as well.

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Any thoughts on whether Coach Frost will match specific D and lines with the Lam twins this coming weekend?

My guess is no, other than he will try to have one of his first two lines (plus Schleper and/or Seeler) out there at all times. From what I can tell so far the U doesn't have a "designated checking line", but even if there was it would be difficult to keep just one matched up because of the amount of ice time the Lams are sure to get. I think the main thing is to make sure you counter with experienced players who have played with and against them in practice and know their tendencies well.

Whatever the match-ups turn out to be, it sure will be interesting to watch.

Good point on the ice time. Think the Gophers' depth will likey win out in the end of this match up for now. Looking forward to it tho. Adding another truly competitive team to the WCHA is a benefit to women's hockey. Looks like Coach I is also trying to figure out his lines as they have been varied.

I would guess he will match the Kortum, Davis and Terry line against the Lams. I think Terry may be a bit of a liability in the defensive zone, but I think Kortum and Davis can pick up the slack. I would be surprised if the first line matches much because they seem to be more of an offensive line.

Now an off topic note, let's keep this board just on Gopher hockey not this other BS.

Series preview from Gophersports:

Obviously, The Sioux will be playing all out for the upset in each contest this weekend, and putting an end to their 28 game(?) losing streak vs. Minnesota. However the Gopher lines are configured this weekend, they'll need to play well in all three zones. Containing the twins is big but I think there's more to beating UND as they have others who can score too. Appears they're getting some solid goaltending. I always feel good about our chances with Raty & Grogan...I think the Gophers will generate enough scoring chances...but I believe they'll definitely need to convert more that show up on the scoreboard than they've managed the last two times out to be successful this weekend. If they can't...it will be trouble.

Thought UND showed some real team speed in the video snippets viewed vs. UMD.

GO GOPHERS!
