Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Would of been nice to get a better starting pitching performance. We may be leading at this point.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

This is getting curious....

It's too bad Verlander owns Cuddyer in this game because Verlander is running out of gas.

Twins get two more back in the 8th.

5-4 Detroit, middle of the 8th.

The 5-9 hitters are now 0-16 for the Twins. That will need to change in the 9th if we are to have a chance. :)

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Twins bullpen decides to give runs back... great timing for that.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

This is getting curious....

****, I really thought Cuddy was coming through there... :( :o

May as well make it interesting, eh ;) :) Gotta hold here to get a chance. Bottom of the order for the top of the ninth.

EDIT: Crap, that guy just kills us... 6-4 now

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

The Tigers have had at least one man on base in every inning except the first. In six of their 8 innings, they have had at least two men reach.

The Twins have gone 1-2-3 in 4 of their trips to the plate.

Twins will need to get production from the bottom of their lineup (they are due if it means anything) if they want to tie this up.

6-4 heading to the 9th.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Young reaches on an error? Either way, Young leads off the inning and is on first base.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Punto doubles!

Young scores.

6-5 Tigers.

Granderson misjudges the ball.

Span up to bat with a runner in scoring position.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Denard Span up against the Tigers with the game on the line. I'll take it, no matter what happens.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Granderson is a knothead......not that there's anything wrong with that.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Why is Punto batting? This guy couldn't hit a beach ball thrown at him.

EDIT: Knew that would work.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

And that's the game.
-
Span pops up to end the game.

Granderson's home run proves to be the game winner.

Tigers win 6-5.

Detroit 84-73
Minnesota 82-75 (2GB)

Tomorrow's game is do or die for the Twins.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Granderson might get asked about giving back a run, eh?

I would have voted tonight's game most likely for the twins to lose in this series.
