I am shocked - SHOCKED - at this turn of events in the life of Chuck Knoblauch, model citizen.

Nice job by the Twins to limit the damage to just the solo HR by M. Cabrera.

I wonder if this will prevent Knobby from coming back to Metrodome for the last time next Sunday...

Duensing is less than impressive tonight. Not a good time for that to happen.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Where is Nick Blackburn when you need him :p

Tigers threatening again in the 4th. Runners on 1st and 3rd with only 1 out. The Twins can't afford to give up many more runs.

Duensing is not the guy I would want pitching this game...problem is they have no one else minus Blackburn I would want pitching this game so it is irrelevent in some ways.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Well, Duensing pulls his best Nick Blackburn and gets out of the jam. That was key. Now, he needs to go in lockdown mode, and the Twins need to manufacture some runs.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Yikes. I think Detroit may have put up all the runs they'll need. Verlander is looking unbeatable at this point.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Delmon Young and Carlos Gomez should not be in this game. They have no idea how to have quality At bats. Which is what we needed in the 5th. Instead of 7 pitches total between the two of them.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

5 runs is too many. This game is over barring the bizarre happening.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Well, that's the game. 5-0 Tigers in the 5th.

Minnesota needs to battle back to at least salvage some of the momentum heading into tomorrow's game.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Twins get 2 back in the 6th. Now they need to get through the Tigers 1-2-3.

5-2 Detroit Middle of the 6th.

What are the chances we can get Rodney into the game? :D

About the same chances that I thought Mauer had of catching that foul ball.

If we can get into Detroit's bullpen we might be able to put up a couple more runs. The thing is we need to shut down Detroit for the rest of the game.
