2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

Re: 2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

Hey Gotice, you are right about not changing anything but I think NAHA would be strongly supported here for their participation in Nationals. Also I do like your version "The USA Hockey Invitational Tournament."

Thanks...It sure makes sense, but what do I know:rolleyes:

I made a poll for you for the tournament coming up, enjoy

Re: 2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

And another thing, you may have noticed that I not only neg-repped you, but I actually signed my neg-rep. I'd do it again, but alas.... "you must spread......"

Good for you! Neg rep me for not agreeing with you. Very mature. Please explain why I should feel bad for NAHA. They know the rules and therefore know that they will not be able to go to Nationals. Each and every District of USA Hockey has different rules concerning player eligibility. Not all of these rules are fair. Get over it.

Re: 2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

Pretend I am and just tell me what the issue is! Why do you have to turn to insults?

Really? This discussion has been discussed by many here on the boards for many years. To restate everything, is long and arduous. You obviously have an opinion that it is all about NAHA "whining", to use your words, and nothing to do with a logical solution that is equitable to all parties involved. So to waste any more time trying to explain this topic to you, is fruitless. 5 or 6 posters, who have nothing to do with NAHA at all, have discussed the issue in simple terms and yet you still don't understand what is at the core of the discussion, then no amount of more words are going to help you, sorry. Have fun at the tournament.

Not going, but thanks for refusing to get into a discussion on a message board.

Sorry to come late to the party and want to know if there was any more to the NHAH situation than meets the eye. USA Hockey's rues are not fair. Never have been, never will be. This is why I've always said that I Love American hockey, but hate USA Hockey.

Still not too sure why you have to resort to such a condescending tone, but I'll just assume that you have your reasons. Good day!

OK newbie, if you aren't familiar with the search function on this board, please familiarize yourself with it. Go look for NAHA mentions from about a year ago at this time. This same subject comes up annually. The arguments have been thoroughly presented. And generally, the folks around here agree that the best teams from each district should be allowed to play at Nationals. The fact that districts don't qualify teams the same way has always been a bone of contention for those who want to see the best play against the best.

If you can figure out how to quote last year's thread in this year's thread, please feel free to continue on with the discussion.

And just because your favorite player wasn't good enough to get admitted to NAHA you don't need to stick your tongue out at them at Nationals time.

Re: 2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

I think it a fair assumption that everyone who posts on this forum is a fan of Women's Hockey. I think most of us have no interest in NAHA, but we do all share an interest in how Women's hockey is perceived by the governing bodies in this country. Minnesota and New York allow residential prep schools to compete in their state tournaments. Minnetonka and NY districts allow those schools to compete in regionals. Vermont doesn't, and the fact that USA Hockey is well aware of this discrepency and does nothing about it, are all things that all of us should care about.

Re: 2009-2010 Top U19 Teams

Might I make a respectful suggestion to anyone in 4thelove... situation (ie. new contributer)? There is a little button on the upper right of these threads labeled "Search this Thread." It might pay for you to take advantage of it when first looking for comments on a subject. I have found that if you go back a couple of years and don't find anything related, that you are probably going to find people willing to reasonably debate with you. Try it, you might like it.

Another condescending jerk, goody!

Thanks for the summary. I thought this was the major gripe, but wanted to be sure. NAHA (and I'm sure others!) get hurt by a USA Hockey rule and that's too bad, but USA Hockey has plenty of stupid rules. Know them, abide by them the best you can, but they're not changing them to help one school and hurt countless other programs in the area!

None of these hockey factories should be play at Nationals. Nationals should be for community based club teams.

OK, I'll repeat myself again, the rule that keeps NAHA out of Nationals is NOT a USA Hockey rule. It it a VERMONT HOCKEY affiliate rule. Please read the content here before repeating inaccurate things as facts.

And please show me ONE community-based hockey program at girls Nationals besides this year's host. The fact is that ALL of the top clubs who are regular attendees at Nationals are PRIVATE associations that DO NOT have in their mission statements the provision of hockey opportunities to the members of a specific community as a public service.

My daughter has played for teams that are "community based" i.e. run by a PUBLIC rink for the benefit of the taxpayers of that community. Their mission is not to be at nationals.

USA Hockey has now instituted a 2nd level of girls hockey just for such organizations.

Please do some basic research before exposing your ignorance to the rest of us.

God, isn't the internet great?

All the smart, smug posters who are here all the time get to be right and holier than thou all the time, while those of us who do not check this board every day, do not know (or even claim to know!) every issue facing every program in girls hockey in the country get their wrath and insults for even daring to enter their lair or ask the simplest of questions. I guess you guys must like just talking amongst your little clique based on how welcoming you are to "newbies".

Have fun!

It seems to us that you came here to tell the all of us alleged (I have no relationship to NAHA) NAHA folks to stop whining, not get a question answered. That in my book is trolling, especially when done by a newbie.

Plenty of newbies welcomed around here. Look at the joined dates of many of the frequent posters around here and you'll find many who have been around for a year or 2. They were newbies once and offered opinions on facts they knew to be correct and didn't come in with an agenda to stick it to someone and then get all defensive when these things are pointed out...

And I'm enjoying my existence just fine, thank you.
