Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

My guess is because of NBC. The only other series with games scheduled for Sunday are NJ/PHI, which no one wants to see and won't make it to a Game 6 anyway, and VAN/LA, which CBC will want and which would get a poor rating to a general US audience.

Why would that force a Friday game 5 at 10pm eastern ending at 1am Saturday instead of a Thursday game 5 at 10pm ending at 1am? Jump on a plane right away, back in Detroit by what, 6 am at the earliest? Just seems like you're going to have some ugly jet-lagged hockey Sunday afternoon for an elimination game.

Wanting to avoid a conflict with the Blackhawks-Preds game?

I haven't a very good idea, but I'm sure someone will explain it eventually.

1-0 Hawks after one. In for another battle tonight.

Tied up in Pitt with Ottawa going on the powerplay. 7 minutes left.

Cya Jersey!

That means, assuming the Capitals and Bruins advance, the B's will play either Pittsburgh or Ottawa.

What a crap call against Ottawa there. Orpick and Fleury initiate contact, Orpick gets cut because he's being an idiot, Ottawa gets the extra penalty.

SHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Series not over yet!!!

The way we say it folks is "if Washington advances then the winner of the Buffalo/Boston series will get the winner of the Ottawa/Pittsburgh series".

Toews puts the Hawks up 2-0. 2 points for him after getting ripped on a bit in the media.
