After a lot of nothing, Halak makes a nice save and the Caps blow the 5x3...their PP is now 1-26 in the series.

Hal Gill is a stud in the playoffs. Sheesh.

Washington needs to move Ovechkin off the point on the powerplay. It's wasting him to have him take slap shots over and over that get blocked and deflected wide.

2:04 1
1-0 B's

Nice block by Grier.

End-to-end action as the period winds down.
27.5

Delay of game on Tallinder for knocking the puck out of play.

5.6 seconds left.

1-0 after 1
The PP will carry over.

Period over, Canadiens head off to the room with a 2-0 lead courtesy of Michigan's Michael Cammalleri.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

The PP won't carry over, as Chara gets a roughing minor after the whistle.

Oops, never mind, 2nd will start 4-on-4. Two weak calls (one because it's a weak rule).

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Shhhhhhhhhhhh. :p

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. I'm used to watching Joe Thornton hold the puck on the half-wall for 1:30 at a time trying to thread passes through 4 defenders leading to a 1-20 PP in a series. :o

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Shots are 14-11 Sabres
Hits are 20-9 Bruins.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Not sure if people have talked about this, but I think the B's need to win tonight. I don't see them winning in Buffalo in a game 7.

Thought the same for the Canes-Bs series last season. I was pleasantly proven wrong. Sabres are the only team that "need" to win tonight.

Buffalo getting outplayed so far tonight, no matter what Rick Jeanneret and Rob Ray say.

P.J. Stock just had a hell of a time with Cammalleri on HNIC.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Caps outshoot Habs 18-10....but Montreal had the better of the chances.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

MA Bergeron has :36 of even strength ice time. This is key.

PK Subban: 6 shifts, 4:09, an assist, 2 hits, +1.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Boston leads 2-0
Penalty on Buffalo creates a 4x3, and Recchi gets the goal.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Thread Part II: Dan Boyle's fate rests in the balance...

Caps to the PP, Lapierre for holding...

Still 2-0...for now.

Brief Buffalo PP is killed.

17+ left in the 2nd
