2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Part 1: How will the Sharks screw it up this time?

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Part 1: How will the Sharks screw it up this time?

SK did only play 9 minutes in the last game. Still, a goofy move and for some reason JM hates SK. Don't get it at all.

He got benched to start the 3rd. He was on for one goal, in which he really did nothing wrong. But Darche makes an egregious error - a weak backhand attempt to clear the puck right up the middle, and then a diving block in which he missed and opened up the shooting lane - and is rewarded with PP time.

I listened to Tony Marinaro on Team 990 this morning...he's hit or miss, but he thinks that JM is coaching to the media (i.e.; starting the francophone guy that went to McGill). If true, that's a shame.

Yeah, but he would just regenerate into Dennis Wideman.

Does he like Jelly Babies?

BTW, Nabakov didn't want to kill Boyle. He wanted EX TER MIN ATE him. If he had that gun on his helment, Boyle would be dead.

Word in the Chicagoland area is that Craig Ramsey or John Torchetti will be soon announced as the Thrashers next head coach.
At least one of these two teams would be more than happy to "lose" their assistant coach.

I half expected Nabokov and Murray to run Boyle into the boards and start pounding on him. Nabokov was furious.

He's lucky he plays for San Jose. If he did that to, say, Philly or New York or Montreal, an angry goaltender would be the least of his problems.

The Francophone media is still upset over Guillaume Latendresse both getting run out of town (with their help) and succeeding in Minnesota. There's a reason Darche was a career AHL'er before filling in in a pinch for Montreal this year, he's not very good. Darche played the fewest minutes amongst Habs players in the last game. I guess he's good at holding down the end of the bench without complaining.

Ever want to read what happens when an old codger writer gets forced to the Internet to write and then has no idea how to do things on the Internet? Welcome to the life of now Internet-disgraced former Globe and Mail writer William Houston.

I wish I had two best seller books.

I wonder if the Montreal fans booed the US National Anthem tonight, as would be their custom.

After a very slow first 5 minutes, the last 8 minutes of the Caps-Habs game has been amazing. Great golatending so far.

According to Mike Boone's live blog, the answer would be yes; some did. :(
Unfortunately, I am not surprised. I hope the Caps fans take a page out of Boston's book and continue to cheer the Canadian Anthem when the series returns to DC.

Entertaining hockey so far!

Buffalo up 1-0 on a goal from Mike Grier, even though the Bruins have had the better of the play so far.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Part 1: How will the Sharks screw it up this time?

B's tie it up on a blast by Wideman in the slot!!!
Neither goaltender was ready for either shot, which were both very nice.

Game note: Thomas Vanek is not in the lineup due to a lower body injury. Hopefully, some others can do the scoring until he's back.

Not totally the same, but there are idiots everywhere...like those chanting "USA! USA!" after the Poti-Gomez fight. Gomez, of course, being from Alaska.

But yeah the "scattered" Montreal fans that boo the anthem are 'tards (there I said it)...especially with so many Americans on the team this year.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Part 1: How will the Sharks screw it up this time?

overheard a guy at work today saying how he was going to make a killing with his b's tickets when there is a habs-b's conference finals. he only wants to go to game 2 and will sell the other three games for big buck$

:D
