That is a group of Native American casinos that bought the naming rights. Prior to that, it was Jobing.com Arena, which is maybe the worst name sponsorship ever.

Nobody goes to Coyotes games because getting to Glendale is a tremendous pain. A little over a year ago, the Coyotes tried to buy some land in Tempe for a new arena(and would have brought Arizona State along with them), but it was Native American-owned and apparently they had to negotiate acre-by-acre with each individual member of the tribe that owned the land, and they needed to get everyone to agree to selling. They tried bluffing by saying they were going with another option, and both ended up falling through. Though, even if they had gotten the land, they wouldn't have had a way to pay for the arena anyway.

Campbell is brilliant. I had never seen it before. Don't care for any of the others except the first Timberwolves which, granted, is lovely.

The Good….Did make the Western Conference Finals once in 2012. Famous for its “white outs” during their Winnipeg days, the tradition continues on the occasional Coyote playoff game.

The Bad....Just one appearance to the Conference Finals since 1980?

The Ugly...The NHL hasn’t admitted that hockey in Phoenix is a failure, the team isn’t terrible just lackluster. This year’s team is terrible though.

Owner: Andrew Barroway, a hedge fund manager, who is not making any money with this team.

Coach: Rick Tocchet, a former bruiser and scorer who played on several teams. Convicted degenerate gambler.

Hall of Famers…Mike Gartner and Brett Hull had cups of coffee here.

103. San Diego Padres

Why?...Probably should rank lower, but I always felt bad for a team that dressed in brown and gold for most of their careers.

The Good….Two National League Pennants, who ran into the buzzsaws of some of baseball’s greatest teams. (’84 Tigers & ’98 Yankees)

The Bad....1-8 all time in the World Series, first 6 seasons experienced 4 100-loss seasons.

The Ugly...Four of the let’s face facts, if you live in Buffalo and your team sucks, you’re stuck indoors. If you live in San Diego and your team sucks, you just go to the beach.

Where they play? Petco Park, actually a very nice facility to watch a game, though at times the team goes to the dogs.

Owner: Ron Fowler is the CEO of the club, making his money through beer distribution.

Manager: Andy Green, just finished his second season managing the club

Top Current Players: Wil Myers had 30 HR’s this past season, so he’ll be traded to a contender sometime next year.

Hall of Famers…Tony Gwynn, Dave Winfield, and the San Diego Chicken

102. New Orleans Pelicans

a.k.a New Orleans Hornets, New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets

Why?...Who would have thought that New Orleans would benefit from somebody else’s debauchery. The Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans in 2002 when the Charlotte fans didn’t like the fact that the owner was a rapist. The Pelicans are treated as if they started in the NBA in 2002, as the New Orleans Hornets then relinquished the ‘Hornets’ name to be reused for the new Charlotte NBA Team.

The Good….went 56-26 in 2008, finishing second in the Western Conference

The Bad....Makes itself comfortable finishing either 4th or 5th in the Southwest Division.

The Ugly...the team is in NBA Purgatory, not a contender, not tanking, just lackluster, blah,

Where they play? Smoothie King Center (I **** you not), was known as the New Orleans Arena.

Owner: Tom Benson. Shinn sold the franchise to the NBA who in turn sold it to the New Orleans Saints owner in 2012. Benson originally wanted to rename itself the Jazz, however the Utah Jazz refused to give up the name. In a perfect world, the Pelicans would be nicknamed the Jazz and the Utah team would be called “The Fighting Mormons”
Coach: Alvin Gentry. Gentry has served as an assistant and as a head coach for many NBA and NCAA teams, was an assistant for Kansas’s 1988 NCAA Championship team, and the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.

Top Current Players: Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are legit NBA Stars.

Hall of Famers…Pete Maravich never played for the Pelicans, but he was honored for his contributions for playing for LSU, and the New Orleans Jazz.

The New Orleans Jazz is one of the best nicknames ever. The Utah Jazz is one of the worst nicknames ever.

Same goes for other teams which moved: Atlanta/Calgary Flames, Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers.

When the Flames moved to Calgary they justified keeping the name because Alberta's main economic engine was oil, hence oil and flames. My ex from Western Colorado tried to justify that Salt Lake City had a vibrant jazz scene. I didn't choose well.
