The escort defense of "I was just paying for dinner!" has such a successful history...

I'd say this guy is toast but the modern GOP has less than zero shame. I wouldn't be surprised if he refused to resign even if indicted. A competent Republican Party would quietly tell him they're going to primary him if he refuses to avoid another Roy Moore/Doug Jones situation, but are there any adults left with any say left in the party?

One interesting factoid. Last month our worthless former President listed who he felt was the future of the party. Gaetz was conspicuously absent.

I dunno...the day the story broke he was already trying to play up how he was going to leave Congress to join Newsmax. I see a "rehab stint" in his future followed by "spending more time with Nestor".

edit: Oh Boy

Folks won’t be surprised that bizarre claims are being made about me shortly after I decided to take on the most powerful institutions in the Beltway: the establishment; the FBI; the Biden Justice Department; the Cheney political dynasty; even the Justice Department under Trump.

Yes, just like the mafia, the D.C. swamp protects its “made men.” Since I’m taking my turn under the gun, let me address the allegations against me directly. First, I have never, ever paid for sex. And second, I, as an adult man, have not slept with a 17-year-old.

Predictably, the anti-Trump cheerleaders such as Meghan McCain, Bill Kristol, and sadly, some of my feckless colleagues in Congress are going to call for me to resign.

He wrote that in an op-ed in the Washington Examiner.

He is definitely gonna be going "away" for 28 days in the next few years.

Now we know why he keeps Nestor around though. First, doesn't look so suspicious having young girls hanging around, and 2. Nestor probably has some pretty hot friends.

Wonder if they come over for 'sleepovers'?

Nah there is one part missing from the scandal...and Nestor fills it.

Fills it...literally!

BTW psych I believe mentioned a few weeks back how Schumer believed they could get 2 more Reconciliation votes this year...

https://twitter.com/Fly_Sistah/status/1379210289556688897

The Senate parliamentarian ruled Monday that Democrats can use special budgetary rules to avoid a GOP filibuster on two more pieces of legislation, setting the stage for President Biden's infrastructure agenda to pass in two packages with simple-majority votes.

It's a win for Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) that allows him to pass Biden's $2.25 trillion package by revising the fiscal 2021 Budget Resolution.

Schumer could pass a budget resolution for fiscal 2022 to do a third reconciliation package for the second half of the Biden infrastructure agenda. Or the fiscal 2021 budget could be revised a third time to set up a third reconciliation package.

Top Schumer aides had argued to parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough last month that Section 304 of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 allows them to revise the budget resolution for fiscal 2021 to create additional reconciliation instructions, setting up pathways to pass two more bills this year with only a simple majority in the 50-50 Senate.

"The Parliamentarian has advised that a revised budget resolution may contain budget reconciliation instructions. This confirms the Leader’s interpretation of the Budget Act and allows Democrats additional tools to improve the lives of Americans if Republican obstruction continues," a spokesperson for Schumer said in a statement Monday. "While no decisions have been made on a legislative path forward using Section 304 and some parameters still need to be worked out, the Parliamentarian’s opinion is an important step forward that this key pathway is available to Democrats if needed."

Looks like the Senate Parliamentarian has agreed with Schumer’s interpretation of “that” section of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, paving the way for Democrats to receive either a couple middle fingers shoved up their collective a—holes by Manchin/Sinema, or three reconciliation bills in one year.

If you look 2 posts above yours you will see I even gave you credit ;^)

rufus,

There is no way that Gaetz is not into both young boys and girls...and from the rumors circulating he is so disliked by even his fellow GOPers that he won't get much help fighting all this off.

My bad! The most updated post I saw was something about Nestor. So disappointed the board had crashed when the Gaetz story first broke.

Yeah that was the only time I really missed this place while it was down. That would have been hella fun!

MTG even deleted posts with Gaetz from her Twitter. When even that whack job turns on you. you know you're screwed. But nothing at all will happen to him, because GOP.

Agreed. As the heat turns up he'll confirm he's not seeking re-election in 2022, he'll get his Newsmax gig, and this will fade away. Best realistic scenario, he's forced to resign early to "evaluate the next step in his career" and "spend time with family".

I’m going to laugh considerably when Delta moves it’s headquarters to Minnesota (or something similar) after Republicans go after them legislatively.

For a number of reasons, that is not likely to happen; same with Coca-Cola. Even ignoring the logistics, the last thing a Republican pol trying to walk the tightrope in a well-heeled suburban Atlanta district wants is their white upper middle class voters tagging them as one of the dumba55es who pettily drove 50,000+ jobs out of town (and thousands more secondary jobs along with them).

I don't know about Delta but Coke owns that city. I don't think they could find any place willing to give them the sweetheart deals ATL has for the last hundred years. It's like TX and oil.

LOL Mitch had to issue a clarification that he didn't mean stop sending him truckloads of cash money, he just meant not to start holding Republicans accountable. But keep paying the money though.

It won’t likely happen but MN could house delta, with the infrastructure here that was NWA HQ.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the modern Republican Party. Herr Stupid must be appeased at all costs.
