I'd prefer that no one from the Dems frame any of this around, "daring GOP to vote no in their presence". I get it and support it, but all rhetoric like does does is trigger the usual suspects and gives them fuel to accuse the Dems of playing games, etc. I don't want to hear, "it doesn't matter" because in some cases principle matters.
 
What's most absurd to me is that if you actually believe the nonsense that it was actually ANTIFA or BLM or the FBI or space aliens or crab people or Jesus and Snoopy that actually invaded the Capital Building (and, you know, not the actual people who did it), wouldn't you want this investigated like crazy?

You cannot be having the Deep State investigate anything. That's all lies. Whoever dug up that shit on Hunter Biden? Those are the guys you need investigating.
 
So the GOP won't support a 1/6 Commission but will support investigating the NSA? I am sure this will end well...

It has been amazing to watch. I think maybe there was some governing done by the GOP up to Obama's election. After his election they abandoned that entirely. We also appear to have enough evidence to prove that a two party government system pretty much fails if one of the two parties is will to burn the fucking house down to get their way.

Their "governing" consists in destroying social programs, bloating the military, eroding voting rights and civil rights for Undesirables, and generally burning every obstacle to the untrammeled rule of the rich.

So they are still governing in the same sense as they ever were since at least Nixon.

The US has three major phases of history, which are defined by the chief enemies against our citizens' flourishing. The First Age was 1789-1861 and the main enemy was the natural environment: we dominated it with settlement and technology. The Second Age was 1861-1968 and the main enemy was first regional and then political aggressors: we dominated them with both the example and might of social liberalism and a rising standard of living for the average citizen. The Third Age is 1968 to the present. The main enemy is the rich in both our own country and internationally. We have not yet forged the weapons we need to dominate them. We need to curb, control, and dominate the rich. They can still exist, but only within very tight boundaries, and stripped of their ability to warp politics.

The next great Socio-Economic Revolution will be American, and it won't go the way of the French, Russian, or Chinese. It will preserve life and rights, but it will finally invert the relationship of capital and human life, with the former finally the servant of the latter. We can still have private stewardship of capital, we can still have private property -- I like my stuff too. But we cannot have human beings suffer because others are hoarders of resources. That will stop.

Qevin McQarthy is implying Liz Cheney is palls with Nancy Pelosi because she accepted a spot on the 1/6 commission. He also threatened the committee assignments of any GOPer who joined. I am running out of ways to respond to this stuff...

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. She would be against us 97% of the time, but she might throw us a vote here and there when the Nazis are being completely insane.

The Cheneys have a lot of power in WY.

She will cut off both her arms to stay in office, so at this point I think anything that gains her power is on the table.


McCarthy is an absolute scumbag in this.


I do like that when Pelosi was asked if they'd wait for McCarthy to name members before getting the committee going, she just grinned and pointed out that they already have a quorum. She sucks on ice at messaging and communication and might suck even worse at long term strategy, but you got to hand it to her that she is an absolute master tactician.
 
Speaking of "DEMS IN DISARRAY!11!1!!" I see the reports about both Harris and Sinema running toxic work environments have gone public this week. Seems like it's always female pols who get this sort of press. I wonder why?
