Re: 116th Congress: Episode 1 - Trial by Fire
The whole point of our system is it could function even when bad people got into power. Bad people are in power now. We are going to flush them down the electoral toilet. That's our system.
It works as opposed to a totalitarian regime seizing power and staying there for 40 years.
It works as opposed to a civil war where millions die because we don't have a peaceful transfer of power.
It doesn't work as opposed to your rainbow-farting unicorn fantasies.
I'm sorry somebody promised you this would be easy and you wouldn't have to lift a finger, but it isn't and you do. It's up to The People in the end. If we fail then yes democracy fails. But if we can't save it then who cares, we were just ants all along.
I sadly disagree. This is a flaw in our system. Our system is a two party system and the GOP has found the major flaw and exploited it. And, they continue to exploit it over and over and over again. The only way to fix it is to get Republicans/Conservatives/Fox Viewers to care about the system enough to stop exploiting it. Hell will freeze over before that happens.
