# 1 in the Country - DU !

Re: # 1 in the Country - DU !

Miami should be discraced by there schedule this year. Its not there fault there conference sucks but they have no been challenged but maybe 2 weekends all year. That will prove to be costly come tournament time. I'd put my money on a team thats been challeged week in a week out coming into the tournament then playing that horrid schedule then trying to get up for there 1st game in the NCAA's. We saw it with notre Dame and michigan last year.

Puhlease...it seems like every time i come back to this forum some other ignorant person says something stupid. If you want people to be doing more research, look at our schedule last year.

Oct. 4 Ryerson University - Exhibition (7:05pm)

Oct. 10 @ Ohio State

Oct. 11 OHIO STATE

Oct. 17-18 @ Vermont

Oct. 24-25 @ Notre Dame

Oct. 31-Nov 1 ALASKA

Nov. 7-8 FERRIS STATE

Nov. 14-15 @ Michigan State

Nov. 21-22 MICHIGAN

Dec. 5-6 @ Western Michigan

Dec. 13-14 Rensselaer (Sat. 7:05pm - Sun. 5:05pm)

Jan. 2-3 @ Ohio Hockey Classic

Jan. 9-10 @ Michigan

Jan. 16-17 MICHIGAN STATE

Jan. 23-24 @ Nebraska-Omaha

Jan. 30-31 BOWLING GREEN

Feb. 13-14 @ Lake Superior State

Feb. 20-21 NORTHERN MICHIGAN (Feb 21st - 5:05pm)

Feb. 27 OHIO STATE

Feb. 28 @ Ohio State

Because you know all of those teams on our schedule were SOOOOOO great...besides Vermont and Michigan. If anything our schedule last year was easier than it is this year because this year we've been playing high powered out of conference teams (St. Cloud, Bemidji, No. Dak, UNH, and even though Robert Morris may not look like a top team they've been doing **** well against ranked teams). Look where our weak schedule got us last year. Oh, yeah I remember...the National Championship game! And who did we have to beat to get there? Oh yeah...Denver, Minnesota, cinderella story Bemidji.

So to reiterate everyone before you...check your facts kid.

Re: # 1 in the Country - DU !

Miami played a great majority of the teams you mentioned in this post this year. So I guess what you are saying is that when you or someone else in the WCHA plays Mich St, Michigan, UNH, and the weaker Robert Morris it is acceptable but you still think Miami's schedule is weak. Makes sense haha
I wasn't going to say anything but seriously...lol.

Re: # 1 in the Country - DU !

Even tho its out of Miami's control, the fact that you have only played Mich, Mich St. and N. Mich once this season doesn't help your case for playing a real tough regular season schedule.

Uhm...we don't control which in conference team we play twice during the year. The two seasons before this one we played Mich. twice. and then this year we don't because it rotates every two years. Get it?

Miami had a way tougher schedule last year... and you didn't beat Minnesota to get to the finals because they didn't make the tourney.

I'll never be impressed when I look at a team whos most impressive non- conference game is either a 6-3 win at UNH on Oct 16th or a 5-5 tie @ No. Dakota. Or in conf. is 4-0, 5-4 sweep at Ferris St.

Yeah...actually we did beat Minnesota...you know Minnesota Duluth. How did you guys do? Oh wait...haha.

I dont understand how you think last year's schedule is tougher. Yes we played Michigan State and Michigan two series each but our non conference was much easier.

Yes Ferris State played in the Badger Showdown so I'm sure you saw them, and didn't you see they are a very physical, talented team and sweeping them on their home ice is actually quite impressive. Maybe they didn't perform well in that tournament but that doesn't mean they aren't a quality team.

And yes we played Minnesota-Duluth in the tournament not Minnesota, one tiny error is nothing compared to your multiple spelling errors.

I"m surprised puck swami, i usually agree with most of your posts but this one i will disagree, i think both of our teams are just as experienced as well as UMD, UNH, Vermont. People were saying the same thing about Notre Dame last year, they were the most experienced, they had the great regular season, how did that end up for them...

In one game elimination tournaments, anything is possible. Great programs have often stumbled vs. lesser teams and that's what makes the NCAA tourney so compelling.

All I know is Miami beat a couple of good WCHA teams last year and came within mere seconds of winning the whole enchilada and has many of those players back for another kick at it. No other team in this years NCAA tourney will have played as deep into the previous tourney as Miami's guys, unless BU makes it again. For some reason, you may believe that Miami is some kind of Boise State-pretender, but I believe they are an ascendent, elite progam and fully deserve to be where they are. Yes, Miami would have a lesser record if they played WCHA teams every week, but I have no reason to believe they would not be battling it out with Denver and Wisconsin for the top spot this year. This is a program worthy of all of our respect as an elite program, as the records prove.

Thank you swami. Sometimes I think that some (not all) people who root for WCHA teams are so elitist. It's almost like they don't think that teams from other conferences can live up to their standards, so they shouldn't even be ranked. Last year in the tourney, we beat not one...but 2! high powered WCHA teams. I think that enough, plus most of our wins this year have proven that we belong at the top.

Thanks for the support!

not at all ironic when you type "@" while dissing another teams ooc schedule

I saw Ferris State and I could see why they got destroyed by Yale. They were very slow and not impressive at the least. Maybe it was the competition but I am not sold on Ferris State

May have just been the game. They are one of the more impressive CCHA teams I believe. They're one of those teams who you def. should not underestimate (much like Robert Morris). Who knows...maybe they aren't doing so hot anymore...but during the beginning of the season they were on fire for a while. They are one of those teams who you don't want to play at Ferris because of their impressive home records, and those teams you don't want to play at home as well.

Your loosing this battle kiddo, just admit you were wrong. Miami played St. Cloud on the opening weekend so how could they be playing bad going into that weekend? They played UNH in the second weekend of the year when UNH had played only one other game, so how can you say they were playing bad going into that series? Just eat your crow and quit digging yourself deeper.

Also how do you not "count" Bemidji as being ranked that high? They have a great record and have beaten very good teams, there is a reason they are fighting for a #1 seed, but your right a team that is towards the top of the PWR doesn't "count".

I know that, and I hope other Miami fans on here know that. It is an isolated person, just like the DU guy who started this thread is isolated. It just makes it worse when he keeps trying to make his argument over and over and others, not just miami faithful are laughing at him.

There is no question Miami wouldn't have the conference record they have in the WCHA. The WCHA is a lot deeper than the CCHA, but there are some very good teams in the CCHA. As Notre Dame showed battling it out with North dakota and they are in 9th in the conference. You just never know on any given night. Michigan is 1-1 with wisconsin this year in two really good games and they are 7th in our conference. Miami has already shown what they can do against SCSU and if they were to play Denver and Wisco 4 times in a year they would be games of the week. Who knows what would happen but I do know I love our roster and the way our team plays. I don't think (atleast I hope not) people think we would run away with the WCHA. However I do think we would have a great chance at winning it. Miami is really the only great team out of the CCHA but there are about 6 teams that are solid and can beat anyone on any given night, you just never know.

I just think all this talk on February 15th about who is better than who makes no sense. Im not looking to get into a debate about it either but im going to stick up for my program when need be, hope I didn't cross the line. Good luck to all down the stretch!

And i figured...since badger fans think UW14 wrong anyway.

Re: # 1 in the Country - DU !

I can't believe how much that stupid McDonald's banner at the top makes me want some chicken nuggets! I gave in the other day, drove through McD's, ordered chicken nuggets with the special during-the-Vancouver-Olympics-only chili sauce, and returned home only to discover that they gave me BBQ instead. &%*$@#!

Wait...what were we talking about?
