Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

Maher is wrong, but Hogg needs to grow thicker skin.

Anybody who goes into the fight against that group of narcissistic as-wipes on the right wing media gets a tough skin in the first few months. That kid is gonna be fine -- he already knows more about Amercian values than any American conservative who has spoken in public since Bill Buckley croaked.

There are gonna be a sh-tload of these kids on every issue from the environment to jobs to health care to women's rights, and they are going to be entering politics and blowing apart the cardboard crap houses that the last fifty years of Democratic timeservers have built. The GOP is about to have a can of whup-as-s opened on it because this is completely by-passing the cowards in the Democratic party and their hopelessly co-opted Yell Show pundits.

Join or die, appeasers.

Feeling inadequate below the belt, and generally threatened by gun control discussions? Come bring your favorite firearm to this meeting, stomp your feet, boo, and help intimidate your fellow citizens into silence!

Yeah. And gun supporters wonder why many are unsure of big time guns supporters. Its a big problem if as owners of deadly weapons, they position women advocating gun control as 'threats'. Who knows how each member would react?

Ted Nugent, responsible gun owner, NRA board member and guest at the White House says Democrats are like "rabid coyotes" and should be "shot on sight."

Didn't he apologize a few months ago and say he wouldn't spread irresponsible and incendiary rhetoric anymore?

That was before a few teenagers managed to break through the "thoughts and prayers" barrier and worry ammosexuals.

If it wasn't The Daily Wire I'd swear it was The Onion. They're instituting stop and frisk in London because of all the ... acid and knife ... attacks.

The comments are luscious ... "from my cold bread hands" ...

PS - Where I live if you are carrying a knife of 5" or longer concealed you must have a concealed weapons permit. (My CCW permit also covers such items.)

There are knife limits. Blade length.

Sikhs and Gurkas will protest.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

That whole sequence was so bizarre. Maher is a smart guy but when he's dumb whoa nelly. He is especially blind when it comes to stuff that affects his own rice bowl (in this case it's obvious). Spitzer set him dead to rights and he still didn't get it.

And God why even have Giraldo on? He's such an obvious troll.

Well Maher's point (which I disagree with) is that it might be too much power in such situations. Remember ABC canned him because of a stupid protest because of a comment the Right Wing Snowflakes took out of context.

He is smart enough to know why Hogg is right but his profession makes it so he has to side with Ingraham. If he wasnt on HBO he would be beholden to spondors like all the rest which would mean he couldnt say what he does about many topics.

Spitzer put it the best way and broke it down right.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

Looking for 'solutions' to mass killings? Start with punishing failure. While I am firmly in the camp of doing far more at both the state and federal level when it comes to gun safety legislation -- eliminating civilian purchase or possession of weapons of war, limiting magazine capacity for semi-automatic handguns, better funding for education and mental health -- the failure to enforce laws already on the books is certainly a place we could start without the need to change ANY law anywhere. But God forbid we hold them accountable. Conservatives decry the supposed "inefficiencies" and "failures" of public entities all the time, but of course law enforcement (and the military) can do no wrong and far too many leaders in various uniforms face zero consequences when they fail to do their jobs. Words conservatives don't like get a California teacher fired, but actual failure to take steps that would have prevented mass shootings carry no consequences.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

The conversation over coffee started off well enough.

Around 8 a.m. on Friday, Representative Ralph Norman was holding court inside a diner in Rock Hill, S.C., where he would spend the next hour hearing from constituents.

Struck by the red T-shirts worn by members of an advocacy group, Mr. Norman started by talking about guns, a discussion the group wanted to have.

Mr. Norman, a Republican, has faced heavy criticism for what happened shortly after.

At some point, the lawmaker reached into his blazer pocket, pulled out his gun and put it on a table in what he later said was an attempt to show that firearms themselves are not dangerous.

In a statement on Saturday, Mr. Norman, who has a concealed-weapon permit, defended his action, saying that what he did was not dangerous.

South Carolina’s Democratic Party has called on the authorities to revoke his permit and investigate. The party has pointed to a state statute that says it is illegal for a person to “present or point” a firearm at another person.

Apparently Gun Owners can break the law whenever they want.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

When do gun supporters begin to admit 'yeah, bad behavior with guns is wider than just criminals or the insane'...and therefore, it is the gun that's the problem.

I don't know but what this guy did is ****ing stupid. And, as we hear over and over again, just recently in Minnesota these people leave the guns out, unlocked up, loaded, and with kids around.

But, yeah, us GUN CONTROL FOLKS are the problem.
