Court records obtained by The Associated Press show that a man accused of killing two people and then himself at a video gaming competition in Florida had been hospitalized for mental illness.
Divorce filings from the parents of 24-year-old David Katz of Baltimore say that as a teenager he was twice hospitalized in psychiatric facilities and that he was prescribed anti-psychotic and anti-depressant medications.

Chief Mike Williams with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department just revealed that David Katz was armed with two firearms - a .45 caliber, a 9mm and extra ammo when he committed Sunday's shootings. He only used one of those firearms in the shooting though, and it was outfitted with an aftermarket laser sight. ATF agents said Katz legally purchased both weapons within the month of August in Baltimore from a licensed dealer.

This just gave Drew a stiffy. The kid had mental issues but still legally got a gun! He was a good guy with a gun, until he wasnt!

I am so glad though that centrists like him and Sicatoka though are ****ing all over it with their ridiculous car analogies.

When have I blamed an entire race? Never. And again, I don't own any guns. I have no need to own a gun. I am for gun rights, but also am for some changes to gun laws. Keep trolling, though. Give it a couple more years, you might be good at it.

No. I said that in the Mollie case:
1. Attitude of the person was the main issue
2. Immigration was an issue, but not the main one. Not all illegals have the attitude that that POS had, but if he was not allowed in, it might have made a difference.

In the FLA case, all of a sudden it's not the attitude/mental state of the person, it's the tool he used. That's BS. The main issue, like in the Mollie case, was the mental state/attitude of the person. He targeted fellow gamers, not randoms.

My attitude is that one cannot flip/flop between tools of crime, and mental attitude of crime.

And I've said before, and in the FLA case it's very relevant, mental health checks are needed.

Finally, just to be clear, I do NOT believe all illegal immigrants are violent criminals. They are all criminals once they become illegal immigrants, since "illegal" means against the law, and most just want better lives, but they are still, by definition, criminals.

I’m curious, did you use a pogo stick to make that leap in logic?

I took an ice cream bucket to the ocean, dunked it in the water, and there were no fish. Therefore, no fish in the ocean.

29 a day of people killing other people??? No, that's 29 people killing themselves with alcohol every day.

Dude, there's more outrage when people kill other people vs. when they kill themselves. So when instruments of that allow people to kill multiple other people very quickly are used, there's real outrage.

Sad that you don't realize that.

At this point posting a car analogy or some other completely stupid analogy like alcohol should get you at least a brief timeout from posting. It's not adding to the discussion, it's not like it hasn't been done 100000x already in this thread and thought of before, and it's not like it serves any other purpose than to troll. And I'm sure the person in question is truly sincere about banning alcohol :rolleyes:
