It was announced today and I'm sure USA Hockey is aware of Simms' injury over the weekend. Doubt it's set in stone if players become unavailable.
Rosters are always fluid as long as rules allow it.
If Edwards was known to be out for the year, she wouldn't be on the roster just coz she was coming out of camp.
I don't think this is a hot take or anything.
My whole point was that it makes me optimistic that Simms will be back at some point as it was brought up in this thread.
Time will tell.

If this were a centralization year they'd all be on the roster for whatever exhibition games they were playing. USA Hockey is just acting like a centralization year because essentially that's what it is.

MJ talking to the press about Simms: lower body, we'll get a better idea over the next couple days, but like Laila, she's in good shape, and that will help them in getting back sooner, etc etc. So, talking in a way that implies not lost for the year. and that's good.

Not associated quite as strongly to women's hockey, though he certainly attended plenty of games, Phil Dzick has died.
Phil was the originator of "One ... Two... Three... WE Want More!", a cheer which he led at men's games for decades. He had had a stoke a few years ago that left him largely homebound.

No 'lil Gorbatenkos- Enright up to the top line, Bella Vasseur is into the lineup centering the 4th. On paper of course, we all know line charts are a fuzzy concept to MJ!!

I almost never post here. As a Gopher fan who met him more than once, I will miss Phil and will think of him every time we play the Badgers.
None of the post-game coverage mentioned Laney at all. I sincerely hope that means that nothing happened that was worth mentioning. She's such an important part of the D. A "bad bruise" would be so much better than another unspecified "lower body injury."
