I have to do this.

Back in 2010, I googled the name of my niece Emily Baer, and all of the top matches were for the then 8- or 9- year-old child prodigy composer and pianist Emily Bear. I have been following her career ever since, sporadically at first and more frequently since she graduated HS at age 15.

I recognize the name Duncan Sheik (sp?) but I swear I've never heard his song, which is odd considering that according to the Professor or Rock it spent 55 consecutive weeks on the Hot 100.

He won two Tony Awards for the groundbreaking work, Spring Awakening, in 2007. He won the Tony for Original Music Score and Orchestrations. Spring Awakening won a total of eight Tonys including Best Musical. All of his work is outlined in the link Kepler shared.

He composed the music for Alice by Heart, inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and originally presented in 2012 at the Royal National Theatre in London.

He wrote the music and lyrics to the 2013 musical adaptation of American Psycho. Which, um, not good. Ya like Huey Lewis and the News?

He prepared the music for the 2016 Washington DC Shakespeare Theatre Company production of The Taming of the Shrew. Oh fuck I saw that. There was music?

And he did a lot of stuff to pay bills. He could probably even get a table at Dorsia.
