World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

It’s been… interesting watching the Euros contort themselves into knots with conspiracy theories this World Cup.

The latest being that the US had the arrest and investigation of former President Sepp Blatter (Blatter was investigated by the Swiss) then “installed” Infantino as FIFA President as a conspiracy against UEFA (Infantino was a UEFA backed candidate, being that he was UEFA’s General Secretary) for the US’ benefit. Nevermind the fact that all of this would require the coordination between the Obama, Biden, and the two Dump administrations.

There’s also the delusional belief that UEFA could up and leave FIFA and Brazil, Argentina (two countries totally not known for massive corruption) and the rest of CONMEBOL would just merrily go along.

They also love to ignore France’s heavy involvement with the 2022 World Cup vote going to Qatar.
 
Everybody bribes, everybody cheats, and everybody lies. The specific human beings at the decision making level for money making schemes like the World Cup are sociopaths. They have no nationality -- only class identity. It would be like plopping a label on a vial of cyanide and then claiming that's a moral distinction.

One man's corruption is another man's business deal.

The Euros conveniently their deals with places like Qatar (France and PSG, Spain and the Super Cup, Germany and Bayern Munich), the UAE (Man City) and the Saudis.
 
Bundesliga has a new US TV deal with USA Network and… Fandango? Yeah apparently they have a streaming service.

It’s $20 million a year for five years. That’s $10 million less than what ESPN was paying. The market correction has begun.
