Hobbies - A thread for other things we kill time doing.

Traded in about 12 lbs. of LEGO parts from old themes I was never into (parts that were VERY specific to those themes) along with some minifigures from other themes I have no interest in and got enough in trade to get the LEGO Sunflowers and Magnolia branches. Put them together over the weekend and decided to combine them in the same thrifted vase. Not sure yet where this one will end up as my botanical display is already super full. May end up at work on my windowsill since I do have a Magnolia tree outside my office.

Next pageant is a Night at the Museum theme.

Thinking a "Teddy Roosevelt" presentation, including a safari outfit, fake stache, thin glasses, a stuffed moose, and a big stick.

I got into speed champions right around the time they went from 6 studs wide to 8 studs. That's where the collectable aspect came in. The 6 stud are now "rare". I have only really focused on the aston Martin, mclaren, Ferrari, and maybe Mercedes speed champions sets myself. I do have some Bugatti, lotus, lambo, audi and a few others but I've been picky otherwise.

I think the Audi was released as one of the first eight wide cars, and collectors at the time despised the change.

I, like you, have been picky about which ones I have as well. I need to check the list to see what all I have.

I have two Speed Champions that I have built and love: Brian's Skyline GTR and Suki's S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious.
I need to get Suki's car and the new Brian's Supra MK4. I have the Nissan and Charger but haven't built them yet.

I want to put the Supra next to the Charger and make a display diorama of this scene:

Apparently I'm not as discriminate as I thought with the Speed Champions line. :ROFLMAO: I have:

In six wide: Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC, Ferrari 488 GT3 "Scuderia Corsa", Ferrari F40 Competizione, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car, McLaren Senna, 2018 Dodge Challenger/1970 Dodge Charger combo, 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0

In eight wide: Nissan GT-R NISMO, 1985 Audi Sport quattro S1, Koenigsegg Jesko, Toyota GR Supra, 1970 Ferrari 512 M, Lotus Evija, Lamborghini Countach, Aston Martin DB5, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Porsche 911 GT3 RS Super Car, Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale, McLaren W1, BTTF DeLorean. And then the 10 F1 2024 cars, Aston Martin Safety Car and F1 car combo, and 2023 McLaren F1 car.

The Aston Martin Safety Car combo I broke up. The safety car leads the ten 2024 F1 cars in displays on my work cubicle, the F1 car is now partnered with the McLaren 2023 car in a display in my field office (seen below next to the McLaren W1). The Sannahed frame from Ikea is the perfect depth for them to keep them dust free. The plan is to buy a bunch of flat tiles and decorate the baseplates to look like a track surface with curbs, but I am cheap and that's a next winter project.

I've been thinking about doing the speed champions wall display especially since I'm running out of shelf space. But I also need to build/expand the shelving/tables I have for the modular buildings which could also expand the display area for the speed champions vehicles.

Just finished building the LEGO Monet's Bridge over a pond of water Lilies. Pic to come later once I get it hung on the wall.
