The 2024 GQP Thread: Because Deutsche Gopher Fan ENDED the Last One

What he said about Crockett is beyond the pale. He's complete drip slime.

Lest we think the white nationalism will stop when Dump dies. Dump is not the cause -- he merely kicked a hole in the log of the American peasantry. The bugs are legion and are still crawling out.

Genocide is WRONG. But. Maybe just this once?

Nah, I don't recall Reagan as particularly racist or homophobic. He just rode those horses. He didn't personally give a shit. He laughed outright at religion as a con.

Reagan believed in the rich stealing from the poor, but he would have been fine with a United Colors of Benetton ruling class, as long as the poor were serfs to be fucked and worked to death and then ground into a gruel to feed the survivors.

I dunno Kep. Reagan referring to African delegates at the UN who voted against the U.S. position on China said, "To see those, those monkeys from those African countries—damn them, they're still uncomfortable wearing shoes!". Reagan initially opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He vetoed a bill imposing sanctions on apartheid South Africa, and he initially opposed the creation of a national holiday for Martin Luther King Jr., though he eventually signed it into law in 1983.

I think it was all performative and political except the Africa comment and I believe on that he was simply a rich white American of his time. I can imagine Tip O'Neill or Pat Moynihan or Jack Kennedy making the same joke. Or LBJ, who was as far from genuinely racist as one can get in 1964.

In short I don't think Reagan opposed sanctioning apartheid out of ethics, I think he did it to support capitalists' right to keep slaves. Color immaterial. Just like Bush Senior or Malcolm Forbes or Mitt Romney. He would LOVE the UAE.

But I have no window into the man's true soul. I am probably just projecting my deep overdetermining cynicism. All we really know of Saint Ronnie in the end is he appreciated an expert blow job and he destroyed America.
