Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Everything will be fine.
The remaining players will thrive with the departures… most of them are dominant already and at the top of their own particular classes across the country.
There will be portal departures and additions as well… always that shock factor but Wisconsin will remain a legitimate contender year in and year out.
I am spoiled. I just don't want to go through another drought and nothing is for certain, but I hear you. I'll enjoy the ride as always.

Totally off-topic, but Wisconsin-y: have you ever tried baked cheese? I'm looking at a Wisconsin website (Cheese Brothers) that sells baked cheese, and a ton of other cheeses, and it sure has me curious.
Back when my family still owned dairy cows, my mother would make what was called farmer cheese. The final step before serving it was to put it in the broiler briefly and brown a thin crust on it. The result looked much like the pictures from Cheese Brothers. It had a higher moisture content than many solid cheeses (but not compared to something like cottage cheese), so we'd call it "squeaky" cheese. It was a Finnish custom, but I'm sure other nationalities have similar recipes.

Per and article on Badger Extra, MJ just finally signed his new contract that has him employed by UW through the 29-30 season. He's up to $550,000 per year. FYI Muzzy is at $385,000 and Frosty $290,500.00. TDM asked him if he had any interest in coaching in the PWHL, he said "maybe". I don't see him leaving Madison with all his kids in the area, his wife having Parkinson's and Agape starting up. I think he was leveraging the AD LOL. He said it would be more of a challenge than a step up; so he thinks coaching D1 is the top rung for him. He also said as long as he can stay effective in coaching the college ranks, that is the right spot for him.

Looks like all the projected recruits have signed on the dotted line. F's Box, Kimbrel, Trembley and Lopusanova; D Baudette, Cerruti and G Swartout hailing from Wyoming, Minnesota, Slovakia, Quebec, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota. Casting a wide net as usual. Like I said before, HUGE shoes to fill at F. Eden, Edwards, Zillisch, Enright, Picard, Simms. They will have 13 F, so N Gorbokenko (who will be essentially a Fr) and Vasseur should see some playing time. Losing Jungels and Harvey will be equally devastating to the D Corps. I'm sure Baudette and Cerruti will be fine, but UW will be losing their best D D evah and best O D evah. They will have 8 D on the roster overall.

Yes, it is. She was injured at St. Cloud last weekend and won't be playing this weekend.
From the sound of it, it's a leg injury. She skated a bit yesterday and will skate more today with the trainer.

I'm still not convinced on Edwards playing D. Early in the game I thought, "ok, she's getting in he groove", but then as the game wore on I was not so convinced, and this was against a non-protein opponent. Hopefully by the time the ncaa's hit she'll be in full stride. She did play some F late in the 3rd period. MJ also did some mad scientist lines at times. Zillich, Pieckenhagen and Enright had shifts together in the 3rd period.

For me, it was hard to keep track of who was skating with whom! And I agree with you about Laila. She's a natural forward and it's asking a lot to expect her to turn into a high-level D this quickly.
I've been looking for a highlight reel. Did Potter's shot go off the goalie's back and into the high corner?
