UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

He got 2 tonight very pretty play. I thought the 'Cats played ok ..second period was so so. They looked pretty cohesive in the first. LiU...no cupcake. Considering theres so many new guys out there we looked ok. Tomorrow night tho those Bobcats will be loaded for Wildcats given their thumping at MC...
The energy and play was much better tonight. This easily could have been a 6-2 win. The aggressive play form Chauvette is great but his rebound control led to both goals. I am shocked Whale has not had a sniff yet.

We talked aboit that (Whale not playing) and wondered if he would get a start this weekend v UVM....

Exciting game last night. Still questions on defense, but they cleared the zone much better. Chauvette looks like the real deal. Both goals were odd man rushes including a breakaway. The line adjustments worked well. Winters is a stud. Loving Felix Gagnon. He is good in all phases and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Quinnipiac will be hungry for a win tonight. Go Cats!!

JFYP to Felix Gagnon. Good to have two lines that can score.

2026 recruit Nico Tournas of the Moncton Wildcats was named first star of the game last night against Charlotte in QMJHL action. He had a goal and an assist. For the season he has a 11gp -9 goals-7assts-16 points good enough for 9th place in the league.
Another commit looking good on a less talented team- Jesse Allecia with Drummondville. He’s slowed down a bit after a hot start but he’s playing a big role on the team. 10 points in 12 games, 7 goals including a hat trick

Moncton has played ok to start the season but not spectacular. They are getting their Maserati back tonight- captain Caleb Desnoyers. If Tournas puts up even more points going forward, might be because the best center in the league has rejoined the team after surgery.

You were right on about Felix Gagnon, Cinnamoroll. He is a rock star so far.

I just discovered that Wildcats-Bobcats game on NESN tonight. 🙂
Yep we are home watching...couldn't do two nights in a row...looks like our offense can't get much going until late in the second
KC keeping them in it.

Hey ATW you are a star! Saw you during an interview with former UNH'er Natalie Noury!

I am amazed that UNH is hanging with the No. 6 team in Div 1. NESN team says the Whitt is a sell out tonight, so MS7 is earning his keep in that regard. I always like viewing the 5-minute vignette with Ralph Cox, which shown again during the second intermission.

Update edit: Sharks beat Warriors 5-2 tonight.

Yeah enjoyed the Cox piece. But I am concerned we couldn't shake the QU swarm all night. Gotta have a fast attack and creative playmakers to do that. Still...am being mindful there's what..14 new players?
...no way was Rand going to lose to 2 HE teams in a row.

Wow amazed that LIU beat MC who beat Qu so soundly last night! But I saw good stuff from those sharks...good for them.

Onto the dirty hippies!!!

Chauvette reminds me of a slightly taller Danny Tirone ... not quite there with DT numbers-wise, but an athletic goalie who is fun to watch. I can absolutely see why he is getting the nod regularly, but as we learned last season, eventually that can become a burden. And looking at the second half of the schedule ... if we don't see Whale before the break, I seriously doubt we'll see him afterwards (barring injury, etc.).

Always entertaining when the NESN crew arrives, and the ball-washers among them stump for our still-unproven (or just mediocre?) head coach.

"The Case of the Missing Whale" continues for another week. Saw him looking morose with his mask on at the end of the bench last night ...
