Dump Term 2, Part 2: "A third term would be a big shattering."

I believe Sinclair is bulletproof. Those are liberal cities but the Sinclair outlets are serving the MAGA audience there. The only leverage we have on Sinclair, Newsmax, etc is we can threaten the diversified consumer goods mega-corps (Proctor & Gamble, 3M, Unilever, Pepsi, Nestle, Nike, InBev, Tysons) who serve both the MAGA and reason-based communities.

3M runs ads?????

I happened to be on the phone with a producer friend I have in Hollywood when the news broke and he told me the reason...and it will likely never be made fully public. According to him and access he has to various revenue stream information ABC saw a drop of about 25% in overall revenue over the weekend. (with more coming) That would be mainly from cancelations to Hulu and Di$ney along with a disaster of an ESPN app launch which was compounded by people refusing to even sign up for it because of all this. I didn't probe much further (mainly because were discussing a project I might work on with him since I got canceled and have the time to devote to it) but that kind of revenue risk is unacceptable to a Di$ney Corp that is already looking at issues in other areas.

Honestly if I was Kimmel I would torch them every night like Letterman did NBC (and Stern on WNBC) and make them fire you. You are on your last contract anyways go out in a blaze of glory.
Wouldn’t surprise me. I heart they lost a million subscribers over the weekend. That’s a fuckton.

But that said, that’s still pocket change compared to Disney vacation revenue. I’m really curious how that played out.

Disney World is already suffering from the tariffs and Canadians disliking the 51st state crap. Disneyland is likely seeing the same.

Disneyland relies far more on locals from California visiting than Disney World, it's why Disneyland has a lot more special events and seasonal stuff (like the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion stuff).

Disney World has all kinds of seasonal events, right now Halloween parades after the park closes so they can generate more money as you have to buy a ticket for it, after that will start christmas parties and parades.

Don't forget the annual International Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, stretched out/milked over a 3-month period now.

But jj is right, my wife and I have friends in the Bay Area who drive down to Anaheim to take their kids to Disneyland 2-3 times a year.

I've always enjoyed Disney and I enjoy some of the touristy parts of it like the special Holiday Parades etc. However, I do not support corporate America anymore as it has systematically destroyed the middle class in this country.

My wife is a Disney Freak, I've seen all kinds of after park hours shit over the years. She was just there for the halloween party. Food and wine is great, the flower festival at Epcot is nice also. Florida residents can get season passes for cheap.

I would think Park revenue would be separate accounting and not play much into it...but as noted they are getting hammered by the dropoff in travel. Probably feeling the same pinch Vegas is.

A million subs is no drop in the bucket...these apps rely on people never canceling. Once they do winning them back is hard. Like when fans give up season tickets it is twice as hard to get them to re-up. Throw in another app on top of that that had a mediocre launch and price hikes and you are looking at a cascade effect. It wont put Di$ney out of business but it will cause major shifts in what comes next.

Whats funny is the RW Media is playing this all up as a "business decision" pretending tbe Government had zero to with it...while Trump openly talks about how they did.

It wouldn’t surprise me. But I’m curious about what Americans did in response to the Kimmel situation
I doubt anyone canceled (since Di$ney probably is draconian in their refund policy) but I would bet when they look in the next few months they will be below even revised expectations.

Sociopaths lie to hide within a normal population.

The GOP uses Voight-Kampff and only accepts those who show no empathy.

Lack of empathy is the key marker of evil. The pathological lying is just a feature.
It's to the point where they just need to start voting on their actual policies.

If you want people off of health insurance and do not want them to go to the emergency room for help, then just start denying people care at the door without proof of insurance or money to pay. If they're bleeding out and they bleed out while you try to figure that out, tough.

Some guy on Fox News suggested just killing the homeless mentally ill folks. Well, pass the law and do it.

Why waste all of this money on courts. Just start firing squading people who we know our guilty pre-trial. How do we know they're guilty? Who cares.

It's all pretty simple and all of it is consistent with what America voted for in the last election.
