Talk about playing the semantics game.From it's base to the top it's about 30k ft. You don't see more than half of it under water. Although, geologists expect that to change to it's active neighbor reasonably soon (in geology time, way beyond our lifetimes).
The base of where Everest is located is well above sea level.
What I can see is all I care about...
