If I saw a Russian here I wouldn't assume they were a Putinite. In fact, if they were here quite the opposite. The vast majority of Americans traveling in Europe, or anywhere overseas, want to see this regime thrown on the ash heap of history with all the other fascists.

I didn’t feel any hate as American, and I’m beyond embarrassed. But I blend in quite well in Sweden and Denmark and I know how to not get flagged as American.

Trump is the one being played by his own party. They are conning the con man. Half of America feel he can do no wrong while the people really in charge do their damage. It’s almost as if the republicans said to themselves “we need a guy in here that can do no wrong and everyone hates” and there he was. Trump doesn’t need a distraction. Trump IS the distraction.

You need to travel internationally more. I have rarely ever been given shit for being American, and when it has happened it was always a Brit, and even then it hasn't happened for a long time.

btw the whole "ugly American" as a tourist trope is overplayed as well. Collectively the most complaints I hear about travelers are lodged towards Russians, Chinese, and honestly Europeans who so often just look annoyed even when on vacation.

My opinion living there as American really changed when I lived in the UK.

Made me realize we aren’t always the biggest buffoons.
 
Living in a pretty touristy city in Germany, it's often the overwhelming number of Chinese tourists that's the most annoying. They're quiet but they are so indifferent to everyone else.

The stupid, loud Americans are annoying in another way in that they think they own the place and everyone should cater to them. Some Texan yelling across the market that "Gary needs to come look at the fountain" is just cringe.
 
All of the media can just go to hell. Now they're reporting on Trump lying (cause everything is a lie) about when he's going to announce the new BLS Chief (the one that announces the job numbers every month).

He fired the messenger. The messenger was just reporting data. The data is the data.

Just stop.
