They dont do committees anymore...too much scrutiny. Now they get their rich donors to fund "retreats" away from the prying eyes of us plebes. Then they send out losers like Ezra Klein to tell us the real problem regulations and "Abundance" (aka the "Third Way") is the way.

I feel like a lot of Trump's "solutions" could best be handled by waiting an hour or two after he announces the plan ("Open the Dam for water for LA!" "Send in the National Guard!"), calling Trump back and tell him it's taken care of while not actually doing anything.

The National Dems are pathetic of course, it’ll be interesting if the “boots on the ground” folks either abandon them or move to take over.
 
Now is the time...if the Progressives and Leftists want to wrestle control away from the Centrists they need to primary everyone and show the pathetic response to this. Time to tell the Ezra Kleins of the world to either join us or get out of the way.

It seems things are incredibly peaceful. It's almost like when you just let people protest without firing rounds into their faces. They remain peaceful. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. But these super intimidating looking cosplayers in their little cute outfits. Don't seem to be fighting insurrection.

This guy is live posting on bluesky from the protest in LA right now. The escalation on display by the NG and DHS is pretty obvious. I think fade will enjoy how much this guy mocks the fascists :)

Its really F'ing sad to see whats happening.
 
If you are looking for live coverage of the LA protest and the bizarre and (I assume, deliberately) provocative NG overreaction, the KTLA feed on YouTube is the best I have seen, because it is using aerial surveillance and moving around the entire area, it is not just a single fixed spot like the others. Also, blissfully, it has no talking head, just ambient sound.

The timing coming right up on the Debt Bill seems to me to not be coincidental. They are desperately hoping somebody in the protest does something stupid. They are waiting for their excuse.

Up the local coverage is 100× better than than anything else you can find out there. My SO was watching live feeds last night.

And I think the debt bill is only part of it...they are escalating to push this beyond 10 USC declaration and go full Insurrection Act. He used "Insurrection " earlier today when asked about all this...also basically said he will decide what the military can and cannot do. Then he almost fell going up the steps to his plane.

Oh...and he will arrest anyone (including office holders) if they get in ICE's way. Like the head of the SEIU (service workers union) who they assaulted and arrested yesterday and is still in custody.

Compare and contrast to Fox on Youtube, they say The guard is there to quell the violence . I saw people waving Mexican flags, pretty freakin' violent

When mookie was a younger kid he would accompany his grandpa to the local clubs where pop would grab a beer and talk crap with his friends while mookie had a coke and sat in a booth.
Subversive places like the polish club, the Italian club, the French club.
All those places displayed flags 🤔
Don’t ever remember cops rolling in to seize flags, or politicians asking why there were not only American flags hanging 🙄

What’s the difference with Mexican Americans showing their heritage 💁🏾
