I think Geneseo must win on Saturday in the semi finals or they will lose out on an at-large bid despite such an impressive regular season.

They sit 5th in the NPI (which is the only thing that matters). Unless there are a lot of upsets in other tournaments, they are not missing out on anything. I don't see losing in the semifinals is going to be that detrimental to their NPI numbers.

Agreed, was just going to post as well.

If Geneseo were to lose to a team with > 40 NPI, I wonder if both Trine and Norbert jump them despite their outcome on Saturday. That would put them in an uncomfortable position.

The NPI is more volatile the PWR. Uncomfortable? Possibly. And of course, if there are a lot of upsets of teams ahead of them in the NPI, then definitely worrisome.

If Hobart and/or Curry go down things are going to get real sketchy real fast.

Hobart certainly an overwhelming favorite to win NEHC...but ya never know what a hot goaltender can do.

Curry has put together a phenomenal last couple of seasons, but UNE and Endicott have both been in these situations before and won't be rolling over for the Colonels.

Sorry my quick copy and pasting ruined your immersion tjoneslo, I hope I didn't ruin conference tourney season for you
It's fine. I wanted to see how many of the games I was going to be able to catch (mostly on streaming services). So now I can start looking them up as a note to self to see where they are available.

Chalk in the UCHC, It's Utica v. Chatham and Geneseo v. Manhattanville this weekend

UCHC

Round 1 (2/26):
#6 Brockport - 1 @ #3 Manhattanville - 4
#5 Nazareth - 0 @ #4 Chatham - 3

Round 2 (3/1):
#3 Manhattanville @ #2 Geneseo, 7 PM ET
#4 Chatham @ #1 Utica, 7 PM ET

Chalk in the SUNYAC, but not without a big scare in Plattsburgh

SUNYAC

Round 1 (2/26):
#6 Canton - 4 @ #3 Buffalo State - 6
#5 Potsdam - 3 @ #4 Plattsburgh - 5

Round 2 (3/1):
#3 Buffalo State @ #2 Oswego, 7 PM ET
#4 Plattsburgh @ #1 Cortland, 7 PM ET

Championship (3/8):
Lowest Seeded R2 Winner @ Highest Seeded R2 Winner, 7 PM ET

Endicott wins in OT, but Wentworth almost stole this with the most bizarre way to win I've ever seen. Endicott has just pulled the goalie Atticus Kelly on a delayed penalty when an Endicott defenseman took a shot at the point that bounced off a WIT player so hard it went into the empty Gulls net for a 2-1 WIT lead with under 5 minutes in the third. Gulls would tie it but if they hadn't that would have been the most sickening way to end a season...

That was crazy. I guess the lesson is (and this goes for the entire game), point-men cannot have their shot blocked up there. Nothing good ever happens from that. Tying going came with the goaltender pulled. Definitely a close call for Endicott. Shots in the game were 70-24 in favor of Endicott.

It's worse when a team misses a back pass and it goes into their own open net. I've seen it. In person. (I also think this is how it occurred the last time it happened in the NHL.)

I saw Adam Oates do it once for the Bruins. He was behind the net trying to put it out front and instead it went the length of the ice and into the Boston net. Never seen it in person though. Just on TV. I believe Utah did it in their first home game this year in the NHL.
