Discussion isn't productive when half the country vehemently believes in whatever "alternative facts" fit their narrative.

It’s the “enlightened centrists” that are the worst. How do you even try to compose a response to “yeah Republicans only help the rich but Democrats only want to help the poor!”? Like, Dump supporters you can blame programming, but those kind of takes are a whole other level of stupid.

It’s probably why South Park has fallen off a cliff the last 10 years, Matt and Trey are the kings of enlightened centrists.

Oh yeah, it’s easy to be “enlightened” and a “nihilist” when you come from a privileged background and are rich.

The “Republicans help the rich but the Democrats only help the poor” quote came from a soccer referee friend who is an “enlightened centrist” and has a special needs child. He’s saying that while Dump and Ellen are eliminating the Department of Education and the Governor of Alaska is demanding that the Legislature reduce public school funding and redirect it to charter schools. Just levels of stupidity.

Wait...he has a SPED kid and isn't throwing a fit over the end of the Department of Ed? Does said "enlightened Idiot" understand that most states can't afford to fund SPED short of upping state and property taxes to the point of insanity?

I swear to Xenu we need to stop preventing Natural Selection from thinning the herd. Their kid would be better off...

Oh he’s upset, that’s where the whole “both sides” comes in because the Democrats don’t want to help his kid either apparently. Dude’s a teacher too.
 
My Nephew has a rambunctious son, just turned 7, he was at a private school, they complained about his behavior. My son and his wife knew he flit from one thing or another at the drop of a hat. Drs diagnose ADHD. Private school said you would be better off putting him in Public school where they have the resources to handle him . Good luck to any kids with some kind of learning issue going to a charter/private school.

That’s not a bug, that’s a feature.
 
That happens all the time.

And, the Feds never funded special education to the levels they needed to. The only thing that is "fair" for the entire country is if the Feds pay for all special education across the country and mandate that every school accommodate it.

It's the only thing that makes sense. Instead we are going backwards. I see public education being completely dead in this country in the next 20 years. We are creating, and putting in a permanent uneducated under class so they can work for the billionaire's.

And no one seems to care.

Yeah, cause they don't want to deal with it. That's why charter advocates point to them as a better education.

No. They get to pick and choose who they'll let in, so the students who struggle, or have learning disabilities, or are disruptive, are immediately culled from the student pool, leaving only dedicated, highly focused students for them to concentrate on.

The solution to falling school standards-kick out all the underperformers. Go watch Pump Up The Volume again.

I believe Linda McMahon advocated for this during her hearing...to be head of the Department of Education.
