Dump Term 2, 1.01: Sleep Now in the Fire

Apparently Trump got a lot of boos at the NASCAR race today...
I personally know a few that recognize that he’d totally be cheering for the cops trying to run down the moonshiners. There are little signs here and there that people are starting to wake up. Not enough of them, but some.

So we are dumping thousands of people on unemployment daily, Inflation is on the rise and we are purposely causing prices to rise...now I admit I never finished my MBA and I am just a lowly (Economics) teacher but I am pretty sure that is very bad for the economy. Good for oligarchs...but without any real Middle Class the rest of us...

Sad thing is the Dow will stay good because the rich will prop it up buying everything so everyone will pretend it is aok!
I had some time on my hands this morning, and came across this video. This economist makes a compelling arguments about inflation causes, which run contrary to popular/mainstream economic thought. It’s private debt that drives inflation, not Federal government debt. The graphs look to bear out his assertion, and it makes sense, but more research would be needed. (The video has a very pompous intro, but…)

Nothing happens unless Elmo cuts ssn or Medicare.

And given that his team is so dumb they dint understand how the database works, they just might

I havent watched the video but COVID (and Trump/Biden's response to it) have shown that all conventional wisdom we have about what is causing economic changes and what are factors is completely wrong.

Mental note: Do NOT hire any of Elmo's codemonkeys for date conversions!

Donnie's Treasury Sec I believe it was did say his plan for battling inflation was to cause a recession.

Not in those words, he framed it in economics terms so the MAGAts wouldn't understand what he was saying.

It was a Deputy...and yes he said they would increase the amount of unemployed workers and lower demand. There is a question on one of my Econ tests in a couple months that talks about that scenario and the students figure out what it means pretty easy. Sad the Average American adult can't...

Some are though because acording to banks people aren't buying as much on credit cards right now...a very bad sign.

Delta Flight out of Minneapolis crash landed in Toronto. No injuries but...so glad I am flying in a month.
