TV 19 - Simpsons Did It

I never played either TLoU game but I'm absolutely loving the show. This episode was an unexpected tour de force. Brilliant on all aspects - writing, acting, cinematography,

I'm so glad this came across to others. As I was watching I was telling Dr. Mrs. I could not believe how beautifully and cleverly it was shot.

So many shows use cliche shooting, but TLOU has surprised me again and again by subverting my expectation and doing things that were different. The people doing the actual shooting are subtle and committed to storytelling of their own. It's not the usual CW. There are so many seconds just held on nothing. It's so Lisa Simpson: listen to the notes he doesn't play.

There are a thousand ways an ordinary director and cinematographer would have ruined that episode. Somehow the crew avoided them all and gave us something true and not mawkish. It was the 1% of the time when mass media was uplifting, not insulting.

Do not let anyone with the money anywhere near this show. How many times do we see art, not commerce?

That plus his performance in TLOU is enough for me to give P&R a try. I watched the pilot when it came out and bagged it. I have since heard nothing but good things, so I will give it a fair watch now.

It starts off slow and gets much better . If I recall most people I know struggled with first season.

On rewatches of P&R I will usually skip the 1st season. The 2nd season still is slow but better. It really picks up once Ben and Chris arrive.

Will I be lost if I just start with S3?

(I like things that are confusing.)

Looking at the list of episodes I would start at the beginning of season 2 honestly. There are some good ones in there. And in season 2 the characters start to take on the traits they will exhibit more through the rest of the series.

OK, thank you!

I just can't with White Lotus. If I ever want to watch a group of people every one of whom so excruciatingly awful I would like to kill them, I'll just move back to Long Island.

King of the Hill revival ordered by Hulu. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are both back on, so hopefully that means more of a Seasons 1-7 vibe than the quality of seasons 8-13.

Original cast coming back as well (minus Luanne and Lucky, for obvious reasons).

I mean, if you had to have two voices die, those two at least make sense as a pair.

If Bobby isn't married to Connie I'm not watching.

Parks and Rec is better than The Office...and not just cause it doesn't have needless seasons that make no sense towards the end. Season 1 sucks, but when it gets it feet under it it is brilliant!
