You missed ...
  • Skilled construction workforce, or workforce in general
  • Electronic/electrical supply chain issues (my company can't get controllers for the machines we build for the construction industry)
I have not been to a factory containing a machine I build/work on that does not have "Help Wanted" out front.

You can't get common items let alone "controllers" in the electrical industry. Prices on PVC conduit are still insane and I assume are staying there forever.

This is the other issue. Prices are a one way street with this stuff, especially common need items like food and household goods.

I admit that sometimes I struggle with the prices I see in the supermarket because I remember $x.xx being a good sale price and kind of basing my budget off that. Some of those prices are long gone.

Yeah me too...then I remember those prices probably should not have been there in the first place. We* kicked this can so far down the road it is coming back to bite us.

*short sighted people in government especially The Fed

Europe hears Americans sniveling about gas prices, laughs uncontrollably.

Can two mediocre companies merging and becoming a larger, even more mediocre, company really be a monopoly? ;^)

The partnership between JetBlue and American has already been under federal scrutiny for many months, and the common consensus among industry experts was that they would grudgingly approve of Spirit and Frontier merging, but would likely fight Spirit combining with anyone else.

But why? It doesn't screw up competition (there will still be other mid level flight options and the of course the majors) so what is the big bitch?

Spirit was dying on the vine I guess I dont see the issue here.

Yeah I don’t see the issue either.

Now, when the inevitable American and Alaska merger comes up in 10 years or so…

Yeah when the majors start getting rid of competition then I get intervention. But two weak small time carriers (one of which can barely afford to fly the routes they have) want to merge to get a bit stronger that is not a real problem in my mind. That just stinks of the government trying to make it look like they are keeping an eye on this stuff when everyone knows they aren't.

This is the NCAA destroying Cleveland State to prove they are tough on cheating so they can ignore Kentucky breaking all the rules.

And then the Fed starts raising interest rates, bringing about recession, and killing wage growth. The oligarchs always win.

When did "price" become "price point"?

It's a fucking price. It's not complex. I hear this on House Hunters and want to punch the realtor.

Because it makes it sound more important and complex than it really is. Carlin was right.

I think it makes it more abstract and divorces the sucker, er, buyer from the fact that they are paying real money -- their accumulated hours of wage slavery. It is like a rhetorical debasement of currency.
