2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Wouldn't shock me.
I almost want it to happen...so many red states would collapse...it would almost be worth it. I'm so beyond caring if these people suffer for their own actions anymore. I love that the raw milk thing is gaining traction...and I hope they find out...

mookie...I am going to try and be nice here because I am sure you don't know but, Polymarket is a political betting site. What you are seeing is one of two things (I can't remember I originally saw that 5 hours ago) either it is a bunch of betters gaming the market to get better odds or just betters putting bets down. Nothing about that is real, its like watching the Vegas line on a football game weeks/months out and seeing betting trends. This is the clownshow owned by Peter Thiel that Nate Silver cucks for.

Honestly, stop believing anything you read on X-Twitter even if it is good news. Confirm it with legit sources.

Some of the comments are hilarious. If you have ever read betting threads before its the same ridiculous logic. "Betting lines never move unless people on the inside know something!1!1!1!" these are the people at the track who "know a guy" and somehow still never win a bet.
Hey, mookie doesn’t know and wanted an opinion from those who know. Was just interesting now it has moved so much in a short time all of a Sudden. Thanks for the insight. Perhaps it is people trying to run up the numbers so they can hedge and close out their side??

Yeah sorry I was snarky...I just knew someone would post that because I saw it floating around yesterday afternoon.

Honestly...most likely it is rich people trying to tank the odds so they can bet and win more money. Vegas tends to have checks on that kind of behavior but the cryptobros don't care. They know gullible morons will eat it up and spread it (and Elon will promote it) which will further tank the odds. then in 2 weeks they bet on Harris and if she wins they make bank. Its so obvious and cynical its kind of sad.

So I guess that post was right...the insiders do know something. They know they are ripping off chumps like that guy.

thing is I want to feel bad for those guys, or the people losing their shirts on $DJT or the morons who can't buy eggs but can buy hundreds if not thousands of dollars of Trump Merch...but I just can't. Just like I want to feel bad for the people struggling with the hurricane relief who have convinced themselves the relief workers there are not helping or relief workers. I can't though. We tried to tell them, we tried to show them, we tried be nice and we tried tough love...but at this point either the fever has to break or they are on their own.

And on a different note, at this point I would not trust anything anyone says from inside a campaign when it comes to polling or other information. You are starting to see both sides have their flunkies go to the press and acts as sources to spread info. Its all gamesmanship now...trying to do what they can to get people to the polls. Everything is skeptical.

I'm all for it. Own those libs so hard with your E.coli and H5N1-laced raw milk! Drink it by the gallon!

Such a weird flex...and honestly who is voting because of raw milk? The Amish?

It isn't just E.coli and H5N1 (which I am sure they believe don't exist) but Listeria and Tuberculosis as well. And we talking very bad versions of TB not just a little bit of asthma. We are talking dying in constant pain like Doc Holliday bleeding through the mouth and your bones hurting TB.

Next it will be meat...

Its so odd the "Horseshoe Theory" of politics is proving true. I mean it used to be the weird unshowered Hippy Liberals who talked about crap like this (or made up grievances about petty things no one talked about) or the "Liberal" moms in New York who knew better than doctors about vaccines. Now both seem to have migrated super Right.

This crap is getting scary though. I have watched enough documentaries about cults to know how this all plays out. The question is whether they take us all down with them?

Saw a post on the book of faces yesterday, someone thanking these guys from a private company that came in and chainsawed and removed a bunch of downed debris that was blocking roads.

The guys were all Hispanic. The guys these same people want removed from this country.

"It’s a big deal that Stephen S. Trott of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit — who was appointed by Ronald Reagan — has decided to write anything, let alone that the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling in the case of Donald Trump is untenable in a democracy," Drew Goins writes in Today's Opinions.

Mark Cuban recently told an interviewer that Silicon Valley execs are supportive of Trump not because he is a business wiz but because “I think they believe they can manipulate him.” He continued, “They understand that he’s so transactional and so devoid of core values that anything that they want they can manipulate him.”

@JenRubin9 writes, “Cuban’s savvy attacks on Trump’s economic ‘plans’ help confirm [that Harris] is better for American business.”

REAKING: New polling shows Donald Trump is only getting support from 4/5 of Republicans whereas Kamala Harris is receiving support from over 90% of Democrats. This is a huge sign that Donald Trump’s base is breaking away from him. Let’s go.

The 4/5ths number (if true) matches the problems he had in the primaries. Sometimes upwards of 20% supported Haley even after she dropped out. Of course the press often ignored it or couched it in "yeah but Biden lost like 10% to 'Uncommitted' so obviously he is in more trouble". That was when you really started to see people question the way the pundits were treating the election. (by that I mean people not including us or people like us) Trump should have been cakewalking like Biden did and he was definitely not doing that. Mind you he was never in danger of losing, but once DeSantis dropped and it was him and Haley the party should have basically carried him on their shoulders to victory. Haley should have been DOA and not able to raise money pretty quickly after it was apparent she couldn't pass him. Instead the Kochs kept funding her and people kept supporting her. Her problem is she has zero sense of timing and is afraid of her own shadow. That is why she dropped when she did and why she endorsed him when she did. A few weeks of waiting would have made a huge difference in the course of her political future. Now she has none...

(and not for nothing...while she won't endorse Harris a lot of her supporters and workers did. Like said they will vote for her)

And I totally believe that Silicon Valley Bros think they can control Trump...the Corporatists thought they could control Hitler too.

I will defer to others...but I never trust that poll although the cursory look at the crosstabs makes me not hate it as much as usual. Others will look deeper ;)

Harris announced she wants to expand Medicare to cover costs of home care long term meaning they could choose not not have to go to a long term facility. That is pretty big...
