Quinnipiac Bobcats 2022-23: The Quest Continues...

LOL!! Who cares?! I’m talking about the USCHO forums….lol….never even seen one post about the program….”they have their own private forum where fans get together”…..lol….that’s priceless….great response!!!
Didn’t you just say “no one seems to care about your program on here”? If you’re using Internet forum activity to judge how much people “care” about a hockey program, then the fact Cornell Hockey has its own forum with many active threads at any given moment suggests that Cornell fans “care” a lot more than Quinnipiac fans do (according to your logic).

The fact you troll on our page says it all….lol

I post for all away games that I don't attend in Score Updates. Attend home games. Before I started attending a lot of games I did a regular post: guess you haven't been around for too long, or are just unobservant.

Cornell has, without question, the most dedicated and best fanbase in the ECAC, and one of the top fanbases in college hockey. You should really quit this conversation.

Did I ask you what you think? Mind your own bees wax…..a troll from another team comes on this page because there is no “Cornell” page on USCHO fan forum. So again little fella….mind your own business…..sit down…and shut up

When you're being an idiot and giving fans of our team a bad name with your stupidity, I will not sit down and shut up. You intimated that Cornell doesn't have any fans because there are few on this forum; in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Just admit you were wrong and move on.

that game against uconn was one of the better hockey games ive been to in a while - good to see the boys respond to a tough second period to bring it home in front of a good crowd

IceCat is a bum. There’s a lot of good Quinnipiac people on here even though the volume on our pages has dwindled. We will all take exception to someone making a fool of our fan base….especially when you are talking down to the unquestioned best fan base in the ECAC.

Aside from that, USCHO undressed Quinnipiac today for supposedly “locking out” other fanbases of the CT Ice from getting tickets. I think it’s in reference to the CHN article, did any UConn/SHU/Yale fan on here have that experience? I think the rush to saying it was deliberate is interesting, not saying it didn’t happen but interested to hear the other three fanbases thoughts. Hope that’s not the case

Not sure what is considered deliberately keeping other fan groups out, but what QU did was to give tickets to the games to their season ticket holders and the tickets were for both games on both days as they did not clear the arena between games and there was no re-entry if you left. Could they have cleared the arena between games and had separate tickets for all the games sure but it would probably required the first game to start earlier or the second game to start later and thus end later. As a season ticket holder in a year where there is only 1 out of conference home game with LIU (not counting the exhibition games) and the 11 conference games (12 total) getting the CT ICE ticket was a welcome surprise. Also I may be wrong but when the games were in Bridgeport you bought a ticket and it was good for I'm not sure 2 or all 4 games. But it was a much larger arena which if I remember was not close to filling up. Could it have been done differently sure but did they purposefully keep fans from other schools out no I think they gave a perk to their season ticket holders in a year without a lot of home games and did not expect it would cause an issue but unfortunately it did.

BTW
The QU vs UCONN was probably the best game I have seen in quite a while with both teams being evenly matched and to be honest if UCONN had pulled out the win they would have deserved it.

Considering the ticket decision was made sometime late last summer (since they were included in the season ticket packages) I highly doubt it was to intentionally lock out the other schools. I figure the other schools will do the same when they host.

I did hear some UConn fans grumbling about lack of tickets for Saturday night, but they were in the arena when they said it.

The bigger issue in my opinion was the lack of any announced TV/stream coverage until the day of the event.

Given the circumstances and trying to maintain the event, I'm not sure what else could have been done. None of us were privy to whatever discussions were had to try and salvage the event.

On the other hand, having this tourney in Bridgeport or Hartford gives Sacred Heart and UConn the same "home ice advantage" doesnt it?

I think having it on campus until it grows (if it does) makes sense and then Bridgeport or Hartford can be considered.

The Yale/UConn and Sacred Heart/Yale games were poorly attended. Maybe that was due to ticket availability... I really don't know.

Whatever happens, I think game times need to be 4:00 & 8:00 or 3:00 & 7:00. Otherwise, a Saturday & Sunday schedule would be better.

I don’t think SNY decided to cover it until last minute. As of Friday afternoon, SNY hadn’t included it on the guide schedule. I think we’ll see the Saturday/Sunday schedule in the future even if it stays on campus.

I don’t think QU had many options with the tix as they limited home games this year. The single admission basically locked Non QU fans out. Perhaps having 4 tix would have been better? I’m sure if it continues, it will get better.

The UConn QU game was a great hockey game. Hopefully they both find their way into the NCAAs, they will make some noise.

Here’s the link for the commentary that USCHO was pushing if you haven’t seen: https://www.uscho.com/2023/01/31/tmq...t-dark-horses/

As a QU alum, I will try to take my bias out of it and say based on what y’all have said, doesn’t sound entirely fair to the other 3 teams, but doesn’t sound like there were fans who didn’t get in like Mark said. Nonetheless, no one from CT is trying to act like it’s a Beanpot replica. It’s to celebrate CT hockey, but no one is naive enough to act like we have a shot to mimic the Beanpot haha, so I’m not even sure why anyone is mentioning the Beanpot in this article. Thought it was interesting they went in on Quinnipiac like they did.

Back to hockey, was encouraged to see the boys fight back against a stronger than we are used to, UConn team. Thought it was a good bounce back from the Cornell/Gate sweep. Good barometer test this weekend against Harvard. We took it to them for two periods last time we played, look forward to seeing where the boys are at. Remember, it’s not about January/early Feb, it’s about March and early April. Let’s keep pushing!

SHU had a huge following on Friday and UConn was very well represented Saturday, so tickets were available.

Equitable for all the schools? Maybe not, but again, we're not privy to what went on behind the scenes. Since the season ticket packages included these tickets, whatever decisions made were made last summer. Next years host can do the same thing and I'll be ok with it as long as there's a TV/stream option.
