I truly believe that for many it's a feeling that their vote doesn't mean anything. This falls into two varieties:

- We're told an election with a spread of 1,000+ votes is "razor thin". Since their vote wasn't the "deciding" vote, there is no motivation.
- There isn't a direct "reward" to voting. They don't get a direct check or reward for voting for Candidate _____. Sure, that person may pass legislation that will lower their tax bill by $1000/year or add $100/paycheck to their bankroll, but the dots aren't connected between those events. This also is tied in with the first reason.

Regardless, the warehouse from which her staff orders it had the same concerns as your hypothetical store.

For years they've been doing this. Right after Obama embarrassed Trump at the 2011 White House Correspondants dinner, he plotted just how to disrupt Florida voting for precicely Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 knowing it would be so critical to the election process.

Random aside: the thought occurred to me while having a "discussion" on another board that the embodiment of Conservatism is the idea that America is a pretty great place, but just think how much better it could be if there were even more protection for the privileges of the wealthy, powerful, and well-connected members of society.
