I remember one of the more reasonable cons here chastising us for thinking Roe would ever be overturned and now they want to ban birth control

Getting a lot of campaign texts these days. Living in Parise’s country, most of them are supporting RJ and similar white trash. I know it’s mindless to do so, but I’ve taken to answering them with sometimes profane insults of their candidate and dipshyt dump. Pointless waste of time but it’s time I have, kinda fun and great therapy. One recently responded by telling me I had successfully unsubscribed. :)

The thought train conservatives have is going to be amazing to look back on in textbooks in the future.

Say random neighbor X did pass out his pill stash to all the neighborhood kids. Neighbor kids eat pills. They....

A) Enjoy the high? How are they supposed to get more? Have mom and/or dad go door to door asking who handed out the pills and can they buy more?

B) Get sick and the parents need to take the children to the hospital. Why are there not more reports of this happening? Why isn't there an influx of ER/Urgent Care visits the week following Halloween?

On top of that, neighbor X is now out how many hundreds of dollars of supply with zero marketing or ability to sell more product to the free sample havers.



Someone on TikTok had a similar working out of a GQP theory in the Fetterman/OZ race. Conservatives are voting for Oz because a GOP candidate means safety and security to help cure all the crime that comes from having Democrats in control. The only way to clean crime from PA is to elect Oz to senate.

if US Senators are such a crucial point of safety for the state, why is the seat "Oz is the best pick for," currently held by REPUBLICAN Pat Toomey?!?! Was Pat Toomy, a conservative, soft on crime?

The thought train consists of stupidity, lying, and/or both. Their base doesn't care about the truth, so why feel compelled to tell it?

Yeah this is dumb even by their standards. "Freebies"? This doesn't give them college for free, so no idea what they are talking about there. "If college is too hard, drop out." Nothing about this changes the grading or makes it easier. But after a week of all nights and a full courseload of advanced subjects, maybe having like 5 minutes to pet a cat might help relax someone for a few minutes. They should also outlaws naps or snacks or beer or anything else that helps someone relax.

Sarcasm aside...

I truly believe that for many it's a feeling that their vote doesn't mean anything. This falls into two varieties:

- We're told an election with a spread of 1,000+ votes is "razor thin". Since their vote wasn't the "deciding" vote, there is no motivation.
- There isn't a direct "reward" to voting. They don't get a direct check or reward for voting for Candidate _____. Sure, that person may pass legislation that will lower their tax bill by $1000/year or add $100/paycheck to their bankroll, but the dots aren't connected between those events. This also is tied in with the first reason.
