Noticed that Arizona State released their schedule today
BU is playing there in a tournament Jan 6-7th- Air force and Michigan Tech are other teams
Conflicts with world juniors but not sure we have any strong candidates for next year's team
Had hoped BU could be in Arizona on the same weekend as Patriots- would have been an enticement to go

Hockey in Arizona in January isn't enough of an enticement??? I believe these games are scheduled to be the first in their new rink.

I believe the rink opens in mid-October

At this point BU is the only team in hockey east that has not signed a player in the transfer portal
Not that this is a bad thing but who is running the program on a day to day basis

So now for OOC we know of:

- Notre Dame at Agganis (unclear if 1 or 2 games)
- Tournament at Arizona State (assume 2 games?)
- Beanpot

Hopefully BU adds Minnesota to OOC schedule. In 20-21, BU was supposed to play they at their place for 1 game and would've played 1 at agganis in 21-22.

From what I've gathered, the 2022-23 non-conference schedule includes:

2 Beanpot
2 @ ASU tournament (January 6-7)
2 @ Michigan (October 14-16)
1 or 2 vs. Notre Dame

I also believe BU is playing 1 game each vs. Brown (home game) and Harvard (unsure if home or away).

Unfortunately I heard the Minnesota series that was cancelled due to COVID won't be rescheduled. BU is slated to host North Dakota in 2023-24 and @ NoDak in 2024-25. I believe BU is also slated to play St. Thomas as part of its non-conf schedule in those seasons.

So if it is 2 against Notre Dame that would be a total of 10 OOC games which I think would be a complete schedule? I know it varies from year to year but (2) Notre Dame and (1) Brown isn't the most exciting home OOC schedule.... but if it means 2 against Michigan at Agganis the following year that woudl be pretty cool.

For the Hockey East schedule, do they change teams we play 3 times vs 2 times?

if not; I’d assume the home / away would flip, so we would be at BC twice and they would be here once….

Jerry York retired. I hope BU already has their man and is just dragging their feet on the announcement. If not, they have now gotten themselves into a competitive situation.

True but once the hires are announced i bet we conclude they weren't in on the same pool of candidates. Meaning I expect both schools to stay in the family.

Players putting themselves into the NCAA Transfer Portal does not necessarily mean they are leaving. Not knowing who the head coach is going to be, and how they might fit into their plans, it is a reasonable thing to do to protect their own interests.

A lot of respect to Jerry York on his career, and his retirement. The Chestnut Hillers often make themselves easy to dislike, but Jerry has always been a first-class guy. A legend. He probably stayed a season or two too long, but he more than earned the right to choose when it was the time for him to go. Wishing him a long and happy retirement.
Hope Jack Parker takes him sailing.

Was Cav an assistant for long enough to be considered in the BC family even though he did not go to school there?

To put a pin in the previous Eric Lang talk, he was never a candidate and that has nothing to do with BU. He would not be a candidate at BC either. Geography. Look for him as a candidate at UConn if Cav indeed goes to BC. But prying Lang out of his current home ain't happening.

He turned down another close-by job recently that would've massively increased his salary.
