It's as if Drew knows nothing about foreign policy and geopolitics but what he slurps up from rightwing sources.

This kind of tripe is going to become more and more common. With Russia exposed as a joke they need a new threat to keep money flowing to their conservative corporate welfare (contractors) and their rural derp make-work (the military) instead of to schools, medicine, and things human beings actually need.

China is excellent because they can also bring back racism and anti-communism (event though China is state capitalism now).

Yes. Leading up there was a legit worry Babis would eek out a win in the runoff. A 16-point loss is pretty great, considering he also has the tailwind of just being exonerated in a fraud trial and he had the Czech equivalent of Fox News derping it up for him.

The build up of fascism worldwide has been fueled by the 2008 recession which is now 15 years in the past. I hope we continue to see the winding down of rightwing parties throughout the civilized world. I don't see a lot of hope in Russia, Poland, Hungary, or Turkey, but perhaps we can at least be rid of the toxic Right in the old Roman Empire territory (I know Italy elected a Neo-Nazi but it's Italy; wait six months for another government).

While the US still has a deeply rooted cancer of authoritarianism in Jesusf-ckistan, maybe we will see the rest of the West recover its democracy as the economy recovers. It better, as it may need to fight us off before the Nazi zit in the US is popped once and for all.

Putz may be getting ready for an offensive.

Western, Ukrainian, and Russian sources continue to indicate that Russia is preparing for an imminent offensive, supporting ISW’s assessment that an offensive in the coming months is the most likely course of action (MLCOA). NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg stated on January 30 that there are no indications that Russia is preparing to negotiate for peace and that all indicators point to the opposite. Stoltenberg noted that Russia may mobilize upwards of 200,000 personnel and is continuing to acquire weapons and ammunition through increased domestic production and partnerships with authoritarian states such as Iran and North Korea. Stoltenberg emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin retains his maximalist goals in Ukraine. Head of the Council of Reservists of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Ivan Tymochko, relatedly stated that Russian forces are strengthening their grouping in Donbas as part of an anticipated offensive and noted that Russian forces will need to launch an offensive due to increasing domestic pressure for victory. Stoltenberg’s and Tymochko’s statements support ISW’s previous forecast that Russian forces are setting conditions to launch an offensive effort, likely in Luhansk Oblast, in the coming months. Russian milbloggers additionally continued to indicate that the Russian information space is setting conditions for and anticipating a Russian offensive. Milbloggers amplified a statement made by a Russian Telegram channel that the current pace and nature of Russian operations indicate that the main forces of the anticipated offensive and promised breakthrough have not yet “entered the battle.” This statement suggests that Russian milbloggers believe that Russian forces have not yet activated the elements required for a decisive offensive effort.

If it was such a concern it would have been downed just after crossing into Montana airspace from Canada. Infact, I don't recall reading about the Canadian RAF being even remotely concerned. So if the USAF, CIA, FBI, or even the NSA haven't downed this thing, they know what's on it or have an idea and don't give two sh**s.

This is nothing more than today's newest 'Caravan of invaders depart from Nigeria' headline.

If it was really a concern, it would have been downed just as it entered US or Canadian airspace (aka, over the Pacific Ocean). From what I understand, it's been tracked from well before that happened. Add that to your correct conclusion about it not being shot down.
