Russian State TV: NATO needs to be de-militarized, and if it leads to nuclear warfare, at least we're going to heaven unlike those heathens...

Yeah what’s the squads excuse here? I can see not wanting anything that looks like a slippery slope to confiscating citizens assets but didn’t this specifically call out foreigners and Putin?

It will be some BS about how "if we can do it to Russian Oligarchs what is to stop us from doing it to someone else's in the future hurrr durrrr!1!!".

even if they have some legit reason what an epically bad hill to die on and just awful optics.

It's got to be the bolded despite the caveat you point out.

The thing is, we already do it. Look up the asset forfeiture laws. There are companies which train police and courts on how to take advantage of those laws to up their coffers.

Russia may screw up the world as badly as we did.

Surging food and energy prices stoked by the war in Ukraine may lead to "social unrest" in Africa, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned Thursday.

Most countries south of the Sahara are already seeing a slowdown in economic growth from last year, and the impact will be amplified by the rising cost of cereals and fuel, it said.

"The war in Ukraine has triggered a sharp increase in energy and food prices that could undermine food security in the region, raise poverty rates, worsen income inequality, and possibly lead to social unrest," the Fund said in its annual Regional Outlook for Africa.

"The war compounds some of the region's most pressing policy challenges, including the social and economic scarring effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, security risks in several countries, and the challenges posed by climate change."

Once again, short shipping instead of going to China. It's as inexcusable that the EU can't use Africa to trade with just as we don't use Central and South America. Horrible. Instead, we make stuff in a communist country. The same communism that the West used as excuses to keep Africa and Central/South America constantly infighting.

Probably it's because the "anti-immigrant" farmers want to keep their labor cheap (and illegal). If there were more plants making stuff in Mexico, it would curtail a lot of the immigration that the racists hate so much.

Yep. All of it. America since 1980. Stupider and stupider every year. You should see the recent arguments against forgiving student loans coming from the same people who will bail out billionaire's at the drop of a hat.

Mitt Romney was right in there. You know, the economic genius who tried to become President and is considered a "moderate". Why is it moderate to bail out billionaire's and radical to boost up normal folk?

Cause you don't hobnob with the "normal folk"

To you, the billionaires are the normal folk. The rest of them are just peasants, who do what you tell them to if they know what's good for them.
