US Foreign Policy 3.0: We're The Mets of International Diplomacy

I dunno, I think if we get rid of Putin this will be the time Russia starts contributing to civilization. The last 53 attempts didn't work, but I got a good feeling about 54.

Honestly nothing will change with Russia

You should have just ended your statement here. Russia is a country that has always demanded strong, authoritarian leadership and I don't think it's really capable of any other form of government. Maybe democracy could work if you let the Siberian oblasts break up into their own independent republics, but that will never be allowed to happen.

Not surprised that I started seeing conspiracies that this is a great reset moment.

Seriously, why does everything have to have to be an uber secret motive with some of these conspiracy theorists? These people think you're counting cards when you play poker against them with the entire deck face up.

Maybe the hope is that the same Russian agents in charge of the US trucker protest are in the charge of the Russian military convey, in which case it will fizzle into nothing by the time it reaches its intended capital city.

She's right, the obvious borschtbots have disappeared from the bird app over the weekend. There's suddenly a distinct lack of noise about the American free-dumb convoy, or "I'm a lifelong Democrat, BUT they are losing me for good over this!" reply tweets.

Yeah no random #Bidenisatraitor type things trending at weird hours of the night. No random tweets from dude's taking selfies in their truck talking about guns or communism. Such a strange coincidence...

Whoa. BOeing is stopping all planes AND parts shipments to Russia as well as maintenance and technical support. 1/3 of Aeroflot's fleet is Boeing. They better hope they have an assload of parts on in hand or those airframes are going to be even more of a death trap.

Pentagon says many Russian troops are punching holes in their vehicles' gas tanks in order to avoid combat.

Do you think they’ve stockpiled spare parts? Lol

I'm just not sure how believable those numbers are. I did the math using Tomahawk cruise missiles and you'd need >67 to take out a column of T-72 tanks 800 strong. Even if you had an A-10 strafing, at max speed of 439 mph and ~18 s worth of rounds fully loaded, you could cover about 2.2 miles using extremely simplified estimates. I don't think Ukraine has anything as remotely capable as an A-10 and certainly wouldn't have the 20 runs you'd need. Could be wrong :-D

(Caveat, this is all based on EXTREMELY simplified math that is laughably generous.)

Edit: This tweet claims 80 vehicles destroyed in a strike and I'm not sure if they're related. A typo going from 80 to 800 seems plausible and 80 seems a hell of a lot more plausible than 800.
