It (the next one) will still hang there until the US learns that unconditional surrender is a thing of the past…..never to be seen again (since the only way to bring it about is off the table).

Did we learn anything? I doubt it.

Exactly.
the running US definition of “war” is antiquated beyond compare.

the next attempt will end the same unless all enemy cities end up looking like Dresden or Hiroshima
there is no appetite to do so, but US expects to achieve the same ending.

A father of one of the fallen marines tells Biden off in person, tells Biden he killed his son, tells Biden he doesn’t know any of the stories of the 13 fallen soldiers and that he’s not authentic in his grief. Tells Biden he doesn’t want to talk about Biden’s son Beau, but his own son. Father goes on Sean Hannity’s show later to share how he owned Biden.

Yeah my sympathy for these parents is quickly dissipating. Grow the eff up, but instead they’ll pander to the trash right wing media

Wasn't there a family who did the same to Trump?

That's fine. Grief has a way of being expressed that seems inappropriate in hindsight. This family was looking for an out and expressed it.

You know what *didn't* happen? Biden didn't go an organize a press conference to make this about himself. Biden didn't hop on his cell phone and Tweet to the world that the military are "suckers and losers," and how he "prefers soldiers who don't die." Biden also hasn't refused to attend these events like the last guy did after being yelled at.

Biden didn't make a somber moment about himself. This was about the return of the remains of these thirteen servicemen who died, and the President of the United States was there to personally participate despite one thousand other things he could be doing. Especially with a hurricane bearing down on Louisiana.

And it floors me that these "patriot keyboard warriors" on other social media don't get that.

Yeah the patriot keyboard warriors , or performative patriotism as I like to call it, is in full force on social media . My fave is the 13 beers set out for the fallen soldiers. Ummm did you do that for the other 2k+ who died?

the best is when they put out bottles that aren’t opened and you know they’re going right back into the cooler.

they should all be mourned, it’s terrible that any of them died.

Bingo. You sit there and take it. Biden gets it, he is an adult he will take his lumps. I think the dad going on Faux to brag about it though is in serious bad taste grief or not but get your 15 minutes if it helps you deal.

The Faux Patriots would be spitting in his face if he did it to Trump though.

The main complain I'm hearing is that Biden spoke too much about his son's death. I had to turn off the radio today on the drive in because it was just so cringey. The shit TFG did compared to Biden legitimately trying to listen and be there for the families.

The media for the most part can go fuck itself.

Yeah, I think I'm ready to tell this family to go fck themselves. They're politicizing their son's death for their 15 minutes.

He didn't say they "knew what they signed up for". He didn't offer to cut them $25,000 checks. He hasn't responded to their frustrations with retaliatory ad hom attacks on social media and in the press.

But please, Keyboard Patriots, tell us more about how the former guy would've handled this better.

Also I'm going to go out on a limb and guess him allegedly talking about Beau so much was to try to emphasize with them and relate his experiences with losing a son and possibly how he coped. So maybe he didn't ask for a straight up biographical report on the guy's fallen son but any mention of Beau was him trying to fucking help the guy.

Beau also served, I think in Afghanistan, so it isn't like it wasn't relevant.

Exactly. It wasn't like Trump talking about Barron playing Fortnite or Tiffany's legs or some other random kid crap. It was relevant. Now maybe at that time you just say "tell me about your kid" over and over and over and completely give them the floor because it's still very raw to them, but him trying to relate and help does not make him history's greatest monster or anything close.

I highly doubt he talked about it any more than he has in the past.

Look Biden is no great orator, and he sometimes overstays his welcome on topics, but he has never struck me as the "You think you have pain LISTEN TO THIS! LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" type of guy. And, when push comes to shove, no one outside of the Faux audience that hates him anyways will honestly believe he acted that way when the dust settles.

The media is already started to change their tune. (albeit slowly) Biden's decision in Afghanistan just doesn't bring the outrage for very long even with the deaths and the overall bad plan that was put in place because the majority of people on both sides of the aisle wanted us out of there. He also isn't hiding, he isn't lying nor is he ducking responsibility. People may not like what CNN or Faux is showing them on a loop but if they have an IQ high enough to tie their shoes they knew it wasn't going to be clean.

The woman who said all Biden voters killed her son? The other kids say she’s estranged and have begged media to stop sharing her words as she’s been disowned by the family.

Latest thing the right has been hung up on: how the DOD declined to let a private charter land so 100 or so dogs could be rescued.

Dogs, by the way, that were strays from the local Kabul animal rescue or from private contractors that cut ties to Kabul when sh*t went sideways. But these brave Keyboard Patriots are claiming the DOD left behind their service animals.

Meanwhile, the GQP are raising fears about how the Afghans rescued may be on watch lists and shouldn't be allowed in.

Now, I love dogs and want to see them all rescued but there are kill shelters filled in the US currently where almost 100 dogs a day are euthanised, and these Faktriots are whining about 100 dogs in Afghanistan?

They need 100 dogs to fight 30 to 50 feral hogs.
